This is from a couple of weeks ago at a Town Hall on May 30th. Ted Cruz was asked about the fast track trade bill, that he says is actually called TPA, and he explains why he supported it. In short, he said he supported it because he supports free trade. But he doesnât mention the immigration portion that we are just learning about.

TPA is not the trade deal itself. TPA, instead, gives the president authority to negotiate a deal. Such approval has been routine since the Nixon administration.
The actual Trans-Pacific Trade Agreement(TPP) has yet to be voted upon. Cruz has already stated that he will vote "No" on the agreement itself -- because of the immigration provisions, among other things.
