How to stop Trump? Thatâs the collective mantra of the mass media. Itâs a natural question to ask of a man curiously portrayed as some sort of Republican juggernaut, which heâs not. I sat in speechless befuddlement and amusement as I watched Fox News analysts on Saturday night marvel at a proclaimed political superman who corralled not even one-third of the South Carolina vote.
Donald Trump is actually consistently drawing a lower percentage of Republican votes than Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are drawing Democrat votes. The very revealing reason, at least to anyone who understands math, is easy to add up: Hillary and Bernie are in a two-person race, whereas Trump has been in everything from a six-person to, gee, even a dozen-person race. Trump grabs a third of Republican votes, while the other Republicans split the remaining two thirds.
This is a political colossus? A one-thirder? Are the math skills of Americans really this challenged? Another triumph of our public schools.

amenesty PLUS H1B1 visas?
Another election variation.
I am pretty much in agreement with the author of this article.
Literally.
So here we have yet another genius pundit negotiating an imaginary political bargain he wants other people to fulfill.
And this alliance would make Cruz number nine in the ‘Gang of Eight”.
Great. Mr. Born in Canada teams up with child of Cuban nationals in pursuit of the American presidency. Brilliant.
As much mockery is tossed as us who insist on sticking to principles when it comes to the natural born citizen issue, one important and hugely critical point needs to be kept in mind. There are just enough of us, maybe 10%, who get it and will stick to our principles. That will cost them the election. THEY might as well work for the democrats - well, Rubio already does. What am I talking about?
Rubio should offer Cruz a Supreme Court nomination to drop out and endorse him.
Trump wins if Rubio and Cruz keep trying for runner up.
Great, a Canadian and an Anchor Baby.
Way to go, GOP. Way to go !
If Cruz makes common cause with Amnesty Boy, we will know he was a fraud all along.
25% in Iowa
39% in New Hampshire
28% in South Carolina
And I dont recall these genius's saying Romney couldn't win with only 1/3 of Republicans supporting him!
Exactly...and I’m almost certain he will
“This is a political colossus? A one-thirder? Are the math skills of Americans really this challenged? Another triumph of our public schools.”
How can such ignorance be published?
For direct comparison:
Trump got:
24% in Iowa
35% in New Hampshire
33% in South Carolina
Plus it’s not going to happen after the whole “Marco Rubio hates the Bible” thing, followed by the firing of Cruz’s national spokesman on the eve of a caucus, followed by getting slammed all day by Rubio for spreading lies.
Cruz’s brand is pretty toxic at this point, as far as trust goes.
But Rubio is damaged goods too, because of his amnesty stance and also his evolving tiff with the ICE community.
All good news for Trump! LOL
Orange Gumby solves this problem easily. He promises little Marco the VP slot and tells Sen Cruz he will nominate and get him through Senate confirmation to the Supreme Court.
Love Sen Cruz but he will be much, much more valuable as the 30-40 year heir to Judge Scalia than an 8 year presidency
It is based on a severely flawed premise— that 2/3rds of Republicans are voting against Trump-— it is idiotic...
Another “Trump is beating everyone so he can’t possibly win how can we stop him” article.
Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
