I dont see why. The point at issue is membership of the EU - basically the very future of the country. On this one point, and on this one point alone, the two are in agreement. Why should they not campaign together?

The interesting point about this EU referendum in the UK is that opinion cuts across many party lines. UKIP is solidly for leaving, the Green party and the Liberal Democrats solidly for staying, but Britain's two big partys both contain members both strongly for and strongly against leaving. I think this is going to be quite close.
