Spend some time in the Old Testament. It is replete with stories of what happens to Israel when it turns its back on God.

No reason we should expect the United States to be any different.

I guess the pope never read the book of Nehemiah. Where they rebuild the walls around Jerusalem.

The Pope fell off the wagon nearly to the day of Obama’s visit.
An agreement was cut:
O: Back me on immigration and Global Warming and I won’t put your pedophile priests in prison.

Before you disparage Catholics, learn about them first

Why do you think I asked the question?

Yes. And I have read much of his other messages. He does not clearly articulate Catholic doctrine. His words are confusing, and often, contradicting. He does not call out as evil one of the biggest threats we face—the slaughter of Christians each day by islam. When Benedict called out Mohammed as the murdering pig that he was, all the muslims feigned their outrage and did what they do best—engage in violence and promote evil.

The soviets tried to murder John Paul II because they saw what a true threat he was. Why? Because he called out communism for the evil that it is. Benedict, in my humble opinion, may have been forced out by the same evil forces that have infiltrated the Church. Benedict was unwavering in his words that moral relativism was destroying civilization.

This pope is a leftist. When communists like DeBlasio sing his praises, you know that something is wrong.

What are the chances that the worst President in my lifetime would be serving at the same time as the worst Pope in my lifetime?

We are living in the Last Days.

Or Revelation 21, where the vision of the “New Jerusalem” was described as having a wall. And not just any wall. The wall is described in verses 12 through 21. TEN verses just to describe the wall.

I agree. The Pope is political, a socialist activist of the highest order - no John Paul is he.

But the way his comment is being reported is not completely honest.

Oh, absolutely. The media does cherry-pick his words and distort them. I want a leader who shows courage in the face of evil. Someone who I can look up to and feel like I can count on. I don’t feel this with this pope. I am really fearful of what the near future brings. I know that Christ told us that nothing can destroy his Church, but I am very scared. We have feckless leadership in Congress, in the White House, in most state legislatures. We are brow-beaten for speaking up against what we know is wrong. I lay awake at night very afraid of the days to come. I never used to feel this way.

Reagan, Thatcher and John Paul - we certainly were blessed with their wisdom and resolve.

I can't believe someone thinks the Pope of all people does not read his Bible. I'm sure he reads it frequently; and has probably memorized many passages:

The Bible clearly states that bridges are good and walls are bad.

It also tells us that organized States may forcefully tax their citizens so elites can give hard earned money away to ‘the poor’ to boost their egos.

The Bible says forgive priests who rape children, priests who steal and lie, and all forms of ‘sins’. Repentance is not necessary. If it’s ‘a sin’ YOU must forgive and accept.

The ONLY exception is if a citizen chooses to protect their country with walls. Or protect their home. Or protect their bodies. THAT type of thinking is unforgivable and results in the person going to hell.

Invaders are the children of God.

“Blessed are the elites, for their minions shall inherit the earth.

My apologies. I believed it to be a rhetorical question, there is quite a bit of anti-catholic sentiment around. I am sorry I did not interpret your question as an honest inquiry.

Catholics must only listen to the Pope when he speaks ex cathedra, that is, on matters of dogma. These are clearly written in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. If he changes that, then Houston, we have a problem.

These things he’s saying now are merely his opinion. So Catholics are free to pick and choose which of his opinions they agree with.
