Very confusing article and on purpose. Just because a compressor or frame is put together in America to make a whole unit doesn’t mean that those parts are “made in America”.
This article definitely needs more information about those “parts” and where they are made.
I had anew Goodman Furnace put in (not my choice of company) and because I unintentionally let my warranty lapse (because of a billing dispute over the installer’s switching to a bank for financing without my consent - at high rates), I could not get those replacement parts replaced under warranty. (Cost me $400 to buy them and have them installed - that was about 9 months of medicine costs for me)).
Both parts were MADE IN ITALY AND COSTA RICO.
So much for an American-Made furnace.
A decent company will honor a warranty regardless of who put the furnace in and it would be nice to have American made parts, even at a higher cost, because I know that they are generally of better quality.
Some of our American companies are just plain stupid, which is why we have consumer boycotts, and believe me, I boycott those who screw me or try to. And I warn my friends about it.
We may not be rich, but we’re not stupid.
I now have a new furnace/Plumbing/Heating company with good service and no tricks re financing.
Given the influx of cheap education in the USA and the increase of laziness on the part of a citizenry that elects public officials intent on aborting citizens before they are born . . . I am hesitant to say we are capable of producing truly high quality goods on a scale worthy of our heritage.
