President Obama said he believed in the sensibility of Americans and did not think Republican Donald Trump would win the election.
"I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president," Obama said at a press conference in California Tuesday. "And the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people."
Taking it a step further, Obama said the office of the president was a "serious job."
"It's not hosting a talk show or a reality show. It's not promotion, it's not marketing. It's hard, and a lot of people count on us getting it right," he said.
Obama said he did not think voters' concerns were limited to Trump. "I find it interesting that everyone's primarily just focused on Mr. Trump," he said, "because he says in more interesting ways what the other candidates are saying as well."
The president then made a clear reference to Sen. Marco Rubio, though he never said his name directly.
"You've got a candidate who sponsored a bill -- that I supported -- to finally solve the immigration problem, and he's running away from it as fast as he can," said Obama.

I did too, until Obama got elected to two terms.
It sounded like a threat to me with the after thought of adding the statement about voters. Obama is either going to smear Trump or something worse.
Obama is the darling of the press. He probably has a lot of feedback from them on how they will turn on Trump if ever he gets the nomination. (Ask McCain how that worked for him.) The media has a huge, huge ammunition store to use on Trump. He will be absolutely obliterated when they turn. Look at his high (highest) negatives now. They will soar even higher when the press turns.
the establishment is in full force and goes all the way up to present and past presidents. the ‘anybody but trump’ mentality is going to backfire big time. all these negative ads and shows from fox news and other so-called conservative friendly media have revealed themselves to be nothing but empty vessels.
This only serves to harden the resolve of Trump’s supporters.
We can thank the GOPe and McCain and Romney for not fighting Obama tooth and nail.
As Trump said, they choked. Trump won't choke.

Trump is the only candidate who has/can handle the media, masterfully....much more so than any other GOP candidate.
Let your elected know that you want no part in this charade.
My thought was that however bad the next president is, he will be an improvement on the current one.

Sorry, ZERO, Trump is not just a “talk show host”! He built a real estate empire, and helped SAVE New York City!!!!
He could not even have hosted “The Apprentice” if he did not have a good job in the Trump organization to offer the winner of each round!!!! Nor would anyone be interest in appearing on the show without that coveted prize!!!!
By comparison, the highest position outside of politics achieved by Zero obama was as an adjunct “professor” who taught his students Alinsky’s “power-building” strategies!!!!
And as a politician, obama did nothing but destroy. Period!!!!
