I’m more a 1870s1880s wilderness kind of guy I reckon.. But I hear ya.

I would have gone out of my way to save Custer.. Or try at least. :-)

Well, we’ll need patriots like they were then, that’s for sure!

But I don’t know about those outdoor potties and all that hand scrubbing the laundry! LOL!

I’m NOT made for hard work. :)

I know....but I was thinking of the early, transitional years of the ‘70s.

Life got rough and then they Turned on, tuned in, dropped out.

If I heard that once.......

If you would of had today's AR-15 and a dozen mags, history would have been different. :-)

This should be fun. Haven’t done one in awhile.

“You belong in the 80s. Not the 1980s, the 80s. In Rome. Being chased by lions.”

Figures. Been one of those days.

Did you ever watch Derek Jacobi in the “Brother Cadfael” series on Masterpiece Mysteries? There is a classic episode where Cadfael meets an illegitimate son he fathered while he was a Crusader during the Siege of Jerusalem during the First Crusade.

Great song. Didn’t the Moody Blues go thru an Acid rock era like the Beatles?

Yes. The second and third albums were recorded under the influence of LSD.

The bureaucrats at the War Department sent the 7th Cavalry out to face Sitting Bull without Gatling Guns - a cost-effectiveness measure.

And here we thought that draconian ROE's were a recent development.

Good evening, brave knight! I don’t think things were better then, but at least people had values and weren’t afraid to fight for them! :)

36 years too late.

Greetings to all at the Canteen!

To all our military men and women, past and present,

You belong in the 1960s

Totally mod! You're a creative person who doesn't mind change, so you belong in the decade with a lot of social and cultural innovation.

Thanks for the ping-a-ling, Kathy! (((hugs)))

Hope this Tuesday wasn’t crazy like some have been!

You asked late last night about my MIL’s blood clots. The swelling is down nicely and she doesn’t seem to be in pain. She also had a swallowing issue, but that’s resolved too.

I’m sure she’s tired of “issues”!

I did watch it - I may have missed that one. I remember vividly the episode regarding the leper. Those series were iconic, IMO - Claudius, Brother Cadfael, and others.
