I think what Rubio said is what many of us would want, but it’s like we know we’re going to get less than he’s promising so people go for the harshest sounding proposals, hoping to get about what Rubio said at the end of the day.
I agree, people are afraid of having the whole thing compromised out of existence, which is what usually happens. I think it would be better if they don’t try for a comprehensive reform (and Rubio said that now he was not in favor of it, partly because it was not a good solution and because things have changed a lot in the last 3 years since Obama has thrown open the borders).
I think it’s going to be very hard to undo what Obama has set into motion (the Muslim onslaught), and I hope whoever is elected can deal with this.
