Those who say Bush is excused because he didn’t have time to act are not able to reconcile their excuse with Bush’s rapid response to Afghanistan.
You can’t have it both ways. Either you act or you don’t act. Bush was asleep on watch in his first 8 to 9 months and there is no excuse for that. He could have prosecuted from February 2001 with full force but he decided that political correctness was more important.
Bush was working on ramming through Amnesty for Illegal Mexicans for all of 2001 until 9/11 happened. In fact, he held an Amnesty Summit with Vicente Fox the week before 9/11.
OK. You walk into a bar, there could be any number of people who might harm you. You need time to figure out which one might be a problem. Prioritize, put out a plan of your own, consider your own people and capabilities. Bush was that guy.
Bubba was the guy who got swung at by the same guy and got hurt (300 dead was bad, no?) but never did anything. For eight years.
