How seven years of Obama created Trump

America has been run for nearly a decade by a clever incompetent. It's hardly surprising that the voters are revolting.

The morning after Barack Obama was elected, in November 2008, I put the television on in my hotel room in New York to watch the reaction. Fox News was putting on a brave face, though the sourness and anger were barely contained: but MSNBC, an avowedly liberal network, was in a state of almost convulsive ecstasy...

...I had seen Obama at the primaries, and at the Democrat Convention. I had waited for him to speak intelligently and practically about the state of America and how he would put it right, but I waited in vain. The cliché at the time, which became more relevant later, was about how he campaigned in poetry but would govern in prose. Some prose can be magnificent: but not his...

...As Lehmann's sank, political leaders, including potential presidents, met to discuss what to do. Mr Obama said nothing: and the liberal media praised him for his silence, suggesting it showed his wisdom by reserving judgment on so complex a matter. Perhaps it did. Or perhaps it showed he didn't have a clue. America's slow, stumbling path to recovery, and its awesome level of debt - just under $19 trillion, or 104 per cent of GDP - suggest the latter. The great stimulus the Democrats then engineered disappeared and achieved nothing.

How seven years of Obama created Trump

Seven years of Obama didn't create Trump. The last twenty years of the GOP establishment created Trump.

I don’t really agree with his main thesis, though his indictment of Obama is dead on. The reality is that the GOP created Trump through their constant repetition of promises every election year, that they quickly forgot about as soon as the polls closed.

This is much more a revolt against the party establishment.

And for the record, the same thing is going on in the Democratic Party. Bernie Sanders is a far more dangerous candidate than many on FR are admitting.

Obama and the GOPe share responsibility for the creation of republican voter anger that enables Trump.

They did not make, nor can they unmake, the man himself.

I did not read the article, but I know it was not “7 years of Obama” that created Trump.
It is more like 70 years of Uni-party perfidy that created Trump.
Obama is just the last layer of icing on that cake.

It’s not just Obama for me. It’s Obama plus the last 20+ years of Republicans not only getting nothing accomplished, but over time it’s become obvious that they are serving an agenda that has nothing to do with what actual Americans want to see happen, and lines up with what Dems promise their voters.

Trump is a message to every weasel in Washington. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

America has been run for nearly a decade by a clever incompetent.

Let's dispense with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is trying to change this country. He wants America to become more like the rest of the world.

Obama is clever but not incompetent - unfortunately. Let's dispense with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is trying to change this country. He wants America to become more like the rest of the world.

Obama wants us to be more socialist as a path to communism, and he wants us to be less free. Let's dispense with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is trying to change this country. He wants America to become more like the rest of the world.

Oh, did I repeat myself? It's okay. First, I'm right, second even professionals do it if they are well coached, and third, we need to dispense with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is trying to change this country. He wants America to become more like the rest of the world.

And that's why we need President Cruz to clean things up and erase every last vestige of Obama's communist corruption of our Constitution and of our government. I'd happily settle for President Trump, or even President Ben Carson. This is also why we cannot permit Hillary, Bernie, Rubio, Jeb, or Kasich to win.

The summary line:

“Since George H.W. Bush left office in 1993 America has been ruled by a spin-obsessed sex addict, a dangerous halfwit and a clever incompetent.”

The great stimulus the Democrats then engineered disappeared and achieved nothing.

The stimulus that ignited that Tea Party, and that Trump supported 100%? That failed stimulus?

This is much more a revolt against the party establishment.

Our revolt is against the GOPe/Neocon overseers of the Faux Conservative plantation. These overseers keep trying to trick/betray/control us to stay on/in their faux conservative plantations by selecting their ilk as our candidates.

In NH, Trump and his voters ignored them. His voters then voted big time for Trump. They won and broke the rules of the plantation masters by voting for Trump in NH. This is scaring our former neocon GOPe masters of the faux conservative plantations and their ilk, the Club for Growth.

It is wonderful to see this decades old, long standing corrupt political system disintegrating right before our eyes. This corrupted system hates working Americans. It rewards illegals and those who bring them into America to freeload off the American workers slaving in the faux conservative plantation.

We are seeing a paradigm shift with us selecting our Presidential Candidate, instead of the GOPe elites, who hate us, selecting our candidates.

There is a Black Swan event occurring with the daily suicidal self wrought destruction of the GOPe, Open Border Thugs, DC faux pundits, Faux News, ABCNNBCBS and the left wing fish wraps. Something similar may be happening with the DEMes.

Many of us are looking forward to seeing the broken bones, drying blood and entrails of the Lying GOP Open Borders Elite, The Club for Growth, their DC faux conservative pundits, their mediots, their phoney pollsters and focus groups, Faux, ABCNNBCBS, their hired tv and radio hacks strewn across the primary states as much as our victories in those states.

We have escaped from their faux conservative plantations. We are not going back for more lies, abuse and mistreatment from our former GOPe masters.

We will vote for Trump and destroy them!

It may be a revolt against the establishment, but it makes no sense that the GOP base is supporting Trump, who supported (and still supports) the big government policies they opposed, over Cruz who opposed/opposes them.

You nailed in by saying the “Republicans failed to do what actual Americans want to see happen”. Paul Kegnor, in his book, “11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative”, provides a pretty good list of what the 230+ years of “pre-Obama transformation” America have been about. Here are the eleven Reagan principles.

• Freedom
• Faith
• Family
• Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life
• American Exceptionalism
• The Founders’ Wisdom and Vision
• Lower Taxes
• Limited Government
• Peace Through Strength
• Anti-Communism
• Belief in the Individual

You don’t have to go back further than the 60s to find that Democrats like Humphrey, JFK, and even LBJ also embraced these principles, but the GOP was the standardbearer of s more conservative approach that emphasized individual liberty over governmental involvement. That changed when LBJ and the democrats saw how big government could fill the void that was being created by social changes that led to the welfare state we have today.

Trump’s America is the same as Reagan’s America. Every point he makes in his rallies reflects one or more of the 11 Principles above, just phrased differently. Trump’s entire life is an example of American Exceptionalism and when he speaks of his success, people not only see the 34,000 jobs he’s created but intuitively know that this is the kind of leader we need at this point in history. He identifies what is important, he names the enemy, and his solutions are the ones they will support.

The day Republican voters got tired of the sandbagging from the GOPe was the day a “Trump” was born.

This will be a good thing to talk about if Trump wins. If he loses to Hillary or Bernie then it will be Barack Obama who talks about how he smashed the GOP.
