If you want to know what knives are actually legal to own or even to carry in the UK, you better bring a legal pad and a pen with a lot of ink in it.

We've said it before. Gun control isn't about guns. It's about control. And the same can be said for the route the UK is taking in having some of the strictest knife control laws on the planet.

Video at article. So, no concealed carry of knife permits and no open carry? Guess those two asshats that killed the Brit soldier in the street with meat cleavers violated these laws. Or, maybe mooselimbs are exempt.

You can only have a swiss army knife and only in certain areas. “Free folding” vs “lock blade”? OMG. I don’t let our cub scouts use blades that don’t lock for actually cutting or carving. They are not safe.

Well since their gun laws hadn’t worked out so well I guess they moved on to knives. They also banned kitchen knives with sharp points - they all have to be rounded tips. I guess next up will be rope and stick bans.

I've read that NYPD cops will sometimes hang around subways, hoping to catch a glimpse of tradesmen carrying "illegal" work knives. Doesn't matter if the knife in question is a work tool. Write that ticket. Bust that guy.

Maybe the real reason for knife-control and gun-control is because they want you 100% reliant on Government. Either that or they are planning our genocide. I go back and forth. It’s probably both.

I downloaded a new tv series called Cuffs because when my wife was visiting England she was watching some location shots. In their second episode they visited an old widow who was living by herself in an isolated area and had been burgled twice. They even caught one of the burglar’s mother and arrested her for possession of stolen property. Later in the program you see the little old lady sitting in her kitchen, terrified as you hear burglars rummaging in another room, only now she has a double barrel shotgun in her lap. You see a door starting to open, a flashlight, someone entering the room then a shotgun blast. Next scene we have the lady who had previously been arrested for possessing stolen property sobbing at a table over her poor lost child and the little old lady sitting in a cell trembling, charged with murder. What kind of sick, twisted society would allow that to happen? Welcome to England 2016 and America’s future if the Democrats get their way.

Australia is kinda like that, i couldn’t wear my Leatherman the whole time i was down there on vacation.

Only if your job requires a tool can you even have one in your vehicle.

And all the homes have heavy gauge roll up shutters over the windows and kick proof screen doors.

This is a good example of how Progressives are Totalitarian. They prefer everyone being “Subjects” rather than Free Men.

I do not like the locking blades. It is really awkward to hold the knife and press the button to fold it in such a way as to keep the fingers clear of the blade. I am always afraid of cutting myself when I use that style of knife. I've happily used a folding Swiss Army style knife (the same one) since I was 17. I've carried that style knife since I was 11--and yes, I did take that knife to school every day. I lost the one I had at 11, though. I have yet to accidentally cut myself with it.

Seriously? How are you supposed to prepare food for cooking with a rounded tip?

I often have a fixed blade knife at my side, usually a SOG Seal pup. If I go in the woods or marsh I use my Gerber LMF (best knife in the world). These knives would give the UK girls a heart attack. Knives are tools, It would take the act of an evil person, or an animal attack to turn my knives into a weapon of defense.

I have three Harbor Freight folding knives and a boxcutter in my jeans pocket that I use working on my old cars or around the garden. They’d lynch me on the spot.

Sounds like a society that Obama is trying to create here. The solution is that when government fails in its responsibilities, the people have to step up, one way or another.

And yet those making the laws have no need to protect themselves because they have armed security to defend their baby soft skin.

Exactly. There were too many reports of stabbings in domestic violence so the nanny’s decided no more sharp pointed knives. Only those people who ignore the law are allowed to have sharply pointed knives and guns in the UK. Maybe grinding wheels will be next to prevent people from pointing up their kitchen knives.

On the other hand, if you were carrying a forged Syrian passport and your new EBT card, you'd be good to go. Ain't America grand?

One of my brothers would fight to the death if they tried to take away his Leatherman here in the States. lol He has had that for many years and it’s part of him.
