There are a lot of tutorials out there on Youtube. :)
I also use it to make animations!

One thing to know... to save a file as a JPG or PNG or GIF, you have to 'export' it from the native XCF that the Gimp saves in. Older versions let you simply save with the extensions.

Here's a GIF I made with 'The Gimp':

1. I made the GIF of Hillary moving her head around.
2. Then took a picture of my hand holding a spoon.
3. I changed the tip of the spoon to one that had some honey dripping.
4. Took a pic of my hand holding a bottle of vanilla.
5. Changed the label to Truth Serum (from the beer by that name)
6. Put it all together and made a viral GIF!
