I want to know why the Venezuelan stock market is up quite a bit for the year.
Are you serious?
What counts are the goods on the shelves, and the ability of people to purchase what they need.
Ever see a Zimbabwe 100 billion note?
Never mind, I did just a little research and most of it is probably caused by inflation. Probably the same with Argentina.
I want to know why the Venezuelan stock market is up....Do they have one? Or is it merely the government’s way of shoring up themselves? (Kinda like ours).

It was up during the entire time of the so-called “Great Depression” too. Liberal policies create depressions as they take the fuel for growth and economic energy and they cause loss of faith in the economy so few invest in it by building businesses.
