How do you know they were rigged? People probably really thought socialism would give them everything for free.
I don’t know that they were rigged, but any political opposition has been imprisoned or killed. This last election they actually won some seats but some think it’s so Maduro can blame economic problems on them (sound familiar?). You are right about the uninformed masses thinking socialism would save them.
