Britain should stay in a reformed European Union so countries can stand together against the aggression of Russia, North Korea and Islamic State, David Cameron has said.
At a dinner in Hamburg hosted by Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, the prime minister gave his strongest comments yet about what he sees as a need to stay in the EU for national security reasons.

"At a dinner in Hamburg hosted by Angela Merkel,... need to stay in the EU for national security reasons."
That's got to be a kick to the WW2 dominated psyche of the English public.

David Cameron has been denounced by some of his own MPs for negotiating a
"threadbare" deal, and more than 100 of his councillors are urging him to campaign to leave the EU.

Was Europe not united against aggression before the EU? That has to be the lamest argument ever. One doesn’t have to have a remote entity in Brussels setting local policy to be united against a threat.

He said if he got what he wanted he would campaign "unequivocally" for the UK to stay in.
Campaigners for EU exit have said the PM's renegotiation is a sham.

There was a time when countries could ally together against threats without giving up their own national sovereignty to do so.

European Union countries are poised to restrict passport-free travel by invoking an emergency rule to impose controls at several borders for two more years because of the migration crisis, according to EU documents seen by The Associated Press.
The switch will reverse a decades-old trend of expanding passport-free travel in Europe.

Was Europe not united against aggression before the EU? That has to be the lamest argument ever. The current aggression is the invasion of military aged Middle Eastern males made possible by the EU policy of open borders. In order to stop the current aggression the only way to do it is to secure the border, therefore, the way to stop aggression is to leave the EU, and its ruinous policies, behind.

The UK already secures its borders. Not all EU countries belong to the open-border Schengen area, and the UK is one that doesn’t. The UK has never participated in the Merkel-coordinated mass admissions of the last year (much to the annoyance of Merkel and the French) - hence the blockage in Calais etc.

HUH??? Great Britain is an ISLAND. Their best defense from the EU is keeping the cancer from crossing into it! The elite are either super dumb and delusional, or think us “little folk” are.
