As I posted on a similar thread, my wife’s Christmas present was an S&W Bodyguard .380 and a conceal carry purse. Loves them.

(Gun control = hitting what you aim at)
There are a LOT more females at the local ranges these days, and most of them are recent shooters who are there for self-defense purposes. A lot of men would rather take a kick in the 'nads than ask another guy a gun question, but the ladies don't mind asking for info on what to buy or how to improve their shooting. Early last year, I semi-supervised a new shooter who had "the gift": she could pick up handguns at random and within the first few rounds be making good hits on the target. It was fun to see someone with that kind of natural turn for shooting.
Niteowl77 is a woman who prefers revolvers, but a stout DA trigger pull is not easy for her, and so she shoots some semiautos better. I, on the other hand, prefer semiautos, but occasionally rely on a somewhat sloppy older DAO SP101 that I smoothed out and reduced the pull weight. (The b/c gap was a bit large when new and has opened up a bit, but it is absolutely reliable, virtually snag-free on the draw and requires nothing other than a pull of the trigger to operate. I try not to let my personal preferences override the virtues of a firearm that does what I ask of it.)
