Obama interview: 'Maybe I could have done ... a little better' Los Angeles Times
He had just given an hourlong speech calling for comity in politics, and President Obama craved a few moments with a few friends who remember when he was not a polarizing figure but an effectively bipartisan one â his poker buddies from his eight years here in the Illinois Senate.
The three retired state senators, two Democrats and a Republican, were still laughing about Obamaâs warmly received address to the Illinois General Assembly when he joined them for an interview Wednesday with the Los Angeles Times about the legislative gridlock in Washington and his role in it.
In a free-wheeling exchange, Obama said he doesnât think that his race explains the Republican fortress against his agenda, or that having lawmakers over for drinks or to watch football every weekend would have made a difference over the last seven years.
But he also admitted that he was partly to blame for the hyperpartisan environment by failing to reach out more to Republicans.
âThere is no doubt that every step of the way, every day that Iâm in that office, maybe I could have done that a little better,â he said.

For starters, he could have tried to hide his hatred for White Christians and conservatives.
The guy is a psychopath
In some ways that is very true. Hussein has happily endured unpopular stands and positions (weakness in foreign policy, soaring national debt, socialized medicine, etc.) because he believes it hurts America in the long run.
He despises the three Cs: Christianity, the Constitution, and capitalism. If he can, in his opinion, denigrate one or more of these, he will be happy to be despised--because in his view, it is a NOBLE cause to hurt these institutions.
“Maybe I could have done ... a little better (at destroying America while expanding the Muslim Caliphate globally)”
As long as he puts the dems on their knees, its OK with me.
Our enemies look at that and see a hollow rotting America. Any people who wold elect such a person are corrupt and easily conquered.
The difference between Obama and Trump?
Trump has held a real job.
mostly, Trump is not black
Maybe the anti-Constitution, anti-Bill-of-Rights, anti-Freedom, anti-Rule-of-Law, anti-Republic, anti-Free-America, anti-American-Citizen loser could have resigned on day one...maybe. What a complete traitor to this country. His “presidential” library should be an old outhouse.
Obama destroys things. Kills jobs.
Trump creates things, including jobs.
Trump has *earned* his bragging rights.
The only thing Barry has earned is my complete and total contempt.
I don’t know why you keep posting that image.
It is totally photoshopped (not real).
You’re right, though a lot of people don’t look at it that way. A population that elected this lightweight token TWICE is a population that has lost its way/sense of purpose.
Ya think?
A dream in February, how fitting.
Yeah, had he known from the start just how spineless his opposition was in the Republican Party, he’d have pushed WAY more of his commie/Muslim/BLM agenda through than what he did.
THAT is what he’s really saying.
BTTT!
