The Mask Is Off: Trump Blames Conservatives For GOP Betrayals
The Daily Wire ^ | 2/11/16 | Ben Shaprio

On Wednesday, Donald Trump finally came out of the closet: yes, he admitted, he's no conservative, but conservatives are the problem with the country anyway. Here's his tweet:

Trump is half-right - the Republican Party has promised, over and over again, that it would implement conservative policies. Then they reneged, disappointing their conservative base over and over. That's one reason the two leading candidates for the Republican nomination are Trump and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), both hated by the establishment but supported by grassroots conservatives.

You may need a nap. I know Trump needs one. He misspoke after his NH victory and it took a lot of convoluted explaining to wash it away. I saw the YouTube and believed he said what he said because, well, he said it.

It was later explained to me that he was operating on very few hours sleep and misspoke OR he was attempting to quote Jeb Bush.

My whole point, though, is not that. It is that you are obviously in dire need of sleep.

I’ll still listen to him but this sneaky anti-Trump monologue made we want to puke and smack him upside the head as Trump is just saying what Rush has been saying all along!

I listened to him today as well and he predicted this thread exactly the way it is playing out.

No, cap. We have not yet selected a nominee.

The REAL question right now is will we select the best one ... the one who can win.

I will vote for the nominee, of course. BUT a lot of people will not vote for Trump.

I would be flattered if this was the post you’re referring to, that I made last night. If it’s not, at least you’ll know that you’re not alone in your thinking.

The hypocrisy of the Cruz supporters here is staggering.

Calpublican, you stated earlier today that Trump wouldn’t be able to keep any of his promises with regard to immigration and when I posted a detailed rebuttal to your argument, addressed to you, you completely ignored it. It appears that you’ll keep ignoring them so I’ll keep reminding everyone that you’re too cowardly to respond when someone calls you out on your BS.

On every Trump thread the Cruz supporters pop up claiming to know for a fact that Trump is lying, he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing just waiting to lie his way into office so he can enrich himself and his friends and ask how can anyone be so stupid to want to vote for Trump.

They claim to know for a fact that Ted is the real deal and how he is our only salvation, but completely ignore or try to explain away things he’s said and done that don’t fit the conservative narrative.

What I’ve concluded is that given the state this country is in, what we need is a populist candidate heavy on the nativism. I don’t care about conservatism anymore. I’ve voted for the most conservative candidate my entire life that was running as a republican and the only one that didn’t disappoint me was Ronald Reagan.

Donald Trump is addressing the issues that I’m concerned with and I like the solutions he’s offering. Obviously, you disagree but I’m going to vote the way I want and you’re free to do the same.

But while I’m at it, you should know that your constant appearances on every trump thread is tiresome in the extreme.

I would be willing to bet that you have not converted a single vote from Trump to Cruz so please, stop doing what you’re doing here. It’s not working and all you’re doing is alienating the people that don’t agree with you, but will still be here after this election.

As far as I’m concerned, people on the far right are as bad as those on the far left, and just like them, are stuck on stupid. Please stop acting like them.

BUT a lot of people will not vote for Trump.

Nearly half of the voters will vote for an absolute Marxist, what is your point?

As you said,
“A lot of Tea Party conservatives said one thing to get elected and did another thing when they went to Washington.”

But one candidate did not. Ted Cruz ran on certain principles and followed them after he went to the Senate.

A lot of the old boys in that Old Boys Club didn’t take too kindly to that.

But it showed me that Cruz is a man of principle.

Another example: He wanted to win Iowa. The Ethanol lobby and the Governor are totally in the pocket of ethanol subsides. What to do... what to do. Trump chose to support the ethanol subsides. Cruz stuck to his principles and won anyway.

My point is that it is vital we keep Hillary or Bernie away from the controls and I want the best candidate to do that.

I don’t think it’s Trump.

That’s what I mean. We may not like it, but we would have some say in it. I mean, deals are his favorite things to do. He’s malleable.

And a note about the Trump Phenomenon that is crossing party lines. When the Obamacare thing was being rammed down our throats, polls were showing 75% disapproval from the public. That’s why so many people are mad, at least one reason, why its such a big bloc.

Unfortunately, people, when The Government pays for something...it’s very easy to be compassionate because, well, it’s not really costing anything, is it?

Or, well, maybe if you’re in the process of filing tax returns you might think it is costing ‘somebody’ something.

There is a scary similarity between the Trump devotees here and Obama lovers.

Anyway, it scares me a little.

Apparently you failed to read any of the anti-Trump posts.

Most of them were substantive.

Yes. His remark was true and a shining compliment to Ted Cruz.

HE’s gonna win them over. Because, WIN-NING!!! Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. People love to win, and they’re gonna win so much they’re gonna get tired of it, believe me.

Trump has far too many “misspeaks”, but I’ll equate it to extended lapses of judgement....

The info you give here great, and confirms what I’d concluded. The post I was referring to is #265 on this thread by Jim Noble:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3395352/posts?page=265#265

Here’s his post:

“Here’s the difference between a ‘conservative’ and a nationalist’.

A nationalist cares about American workers because they are his brothers and sisters. A nationalist knows if there are no jobs for American workers that they can do, they won’t form families, their lives will follow a downward trajectory, they will fall victim to drugs and transient relationships, and that our communities will suffer as a result.

A conservative may dislike or even hate these outcomes, but he will say that it is the fault of the American workers, because either they have character defects or because they ask too much from their employers (via unions or otherwise), so it follows that sending their jobs to China and Malaysia is BETTER that keeping them here, because keeping them here involves some things that are not conservative’.

Well, if that is conservatism, screw it. I was raised to love my country and her people, I hate what globalism has done and is doing to her and to them, and in the few years I have left I am committed to destroy the poison of globalism and to make America great again. That’s nationalism, that’s what I believe in.”

I retweeted his tweet:

ENTRENCHED POLITICIANS say & promise everything CONSERVATIVES want to hear during elections, but ALWAYS RENEGE!

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Remember, it was the Republican Party, with the help of Conservatives, that made so many promises to their base, BUT DIDN’T KEEP THEM! Hi DT
