Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson tells Jake Tapper he is "not getting any pressure" to suspend his campaign despite dismal results in N.H. and is confident to win South Carolina.

One thing seems for certain. This was never really about a serious run for the presidency. First clue - you don't temporarily suspend your campaign to go sell books when you are leading in the polls. Another clue, you don't tell your foreign policy adviser to go pound sand when he tells you that you need to bone up on the material in order to forestall a quickly growing narrative that you're out of your depths.
Note to Ben. This really isn't all about you. Your campaign is done. Hang it up.
Nice man. In over his head.
If not, its time to go, Ben.
Must have stopped off in Colorado if he thinks he can win in South Carolina.
Dr. Carson, time to give up the campaign and get with your agent to plan your post presidential run career. The Huckster, Rick Santorum, and Mr. Newt all got lucrative offers after running for president and so will you.
Why do you care that Carson is still in the race? Do you think that every Carson supporter is automatically going to jump on the Cruz train?
The lesson here is a guy can make money just running for president.
This was never the assertion of Cruz supporters, but more his critics.
I live in the south...Tennessee and none of the candidates but Cruz has sent out mailers. Our early voting starts today, primary March 1.
Last I heard Carson’s donors are shifting away from him as his polling is not even 10%, with poor showings in both Iowa and NH.
Here in the upstate of SC, there have been NO radio or TV ads, no mailers, NONE/NOTHING at all to indicate that Carson is even campaigning, yet alone fighting to win this state. What a joke! A farce! I appreciate that there are pockets of voters who support him, who feel he is a decent man, etc., but it’s time to move on to someone who’s actually fighting for the nomination instead of giving any more money or hope to a Carson candidacy.
Still being in the race is not a nice thing to do.
He obviously cut a deal with Trump to help hurt Cruz.
Can’t blame Trump for that. He’s a smart man.
But Carson, making a deal with a guy who compared him to a child molester while faking umbrage over a tweet, obviously has less character than I thought.
Me, too.
In fact, I’m going to start my campaign there in a few days.
I’ll head off home to change my undies right now so I can get started.
Then why do they care if he stays in race?
I have a passing interest in knowing whether Carson has an ulterior motive for his very public indignation over what happened in Iowa, and it is suspect that a guy with so little support would vow to remain in the race.
At this point I cannot agree that he is a nice man.
His staying in the race disenfranchises his own key supporters for all practical purposes.
I think I can win the Lottery. Our chances are about the same Dr.
Agreed. People kept telling him he could be President (even many conservative posters here on FR) and he bought into it. Trump gave him a taste of the Trump campaign style, but he never stole any votes from him. Dr. Carson would probably be gone now if it weren't for that fiasco.
I can't stand the "blame the victim" rationale of some Cruz supporters. What did they achieve? I'd imagine Dr. Carson got sympathy campaign contributions from that mess, keeping his campaign alive. The Cruz campaign has yet another factoid to add to the "nasty" meme....stealing votes from the vulnerable black guy. I wonder how that's playing in South Carolina.
The thing about Dr. Carson is that whenever a question came up involving the medical profession, he completely, clearly, and enthusiastically answered it.
