Some Chinese academics have crowed that China has already won the coming war because President Obama doesn't have the stomach for a major war, as demonstrated by his announcing red lines and then not enforcing them. From the story.

This is going from memory, so I may be wrong in the details,
but the new Chinese destroyers deploy the YJ-18 vertical launch anti-ship supersonic missiles that can take out carriers. This is in addition to the supersonic wave-skipping Yakhont and Sunburn missiles already in use. Attacking China from the sea is one hazardous mama.

From the article, China's Map of National Shame:
It appears to cover a huge chunk of Soviet Central Asia, aka the stans, as well as all of mainland Southeast Asia. Considering that Chinese emperors used to claim to rule "All Under Heaven", it will be interesting to see how far future Chinese leaders choose to take the recent incremental expansion of Chinese territorial claims.
