The RNC has superdelegates too. I’m wondering how many committed delegates Trump has to have before he can stop the RNC from denying the nominations through superdelegate voting.
The Republicans have 3 delegates per contest (both State and territory) that are chosen by the Republican Committee of that State or territory for a total of 168 delegates that are not bound to the election. That is out of a total of 2,470 delegates, or 6.8% of the total.
The Democrats have 714 super-delegates out of 4,483 total delegates, or 15.9% of the total.
It is very unlikely that the GOP will have enough at-large delegates to skew the nomination process.
out of the over 300, like 130ish are part of the RNC.
