Either you are going to pay in realistic wages, or you are going to be taxed heavily to pay welfare to the domestic workforce that you have abandoned. And you will pay, unless you want to be on the bad end of a revolution.
I don’t think that the people who frequent FR realize just how pissed off the rest of the country are with our governmemt and financial institutions. I keep hearing here how stupid the “masses” are. They may not be able to articulate it, but the know when they’re being taken for a ride.
Which takes us back to the original post. FRee traders will import H1-B workers to displace domestic employees. The only reason is the bottom line. With that being said, when do we get to replace white collar workers and executives with dirt cheap labor? Maybe the shareholders and funds managers should look in to this. You think only the low level employees are fair game for replacement?

A "minimum wage" law doesn't prevent an employer from leaving a job unfilled - and another worker unemployed and making the true minimum wage of zero.
