After a disappointing sixth-place finish in the state upon which he had staked his presidential bid, Gov. Chris Christie is heading home to New Jersey on Wednesday to weigh his options for the future of his campaign.
The governor had originally planned to fly to South Carolina to attend a forum, saying Tuesday morning that he had already booked a plane ticket. But his showing led him to change his plans as the vote totals came in Tuesday night.
"We're going to go home to New Jersey tomorrow, and we're going to take a deep breath," he told supporters, adding that he and his family "will make a decision on our next step forward based on the results that come in here in New Hampshire."

But, hey, why are we speculating? Trump's the deal maker. We should be confident that he's going to be a player in the decisions, so it's in good hands.

That’s what I’m saying. If Christie had left Rubio alone, he’d probably still be ahead of Kasich and Jeb. And it’s Kasich and Jeb we should want out of the race.

Too many voters remembered Christie cozying up to Obama immediately after Hurricane Sandy and I think those voters partially blamed Christie for Obama’s reelection.
I also think that Christie conveniently found his conservative voice once he started his run for the nomination.
What I'm saying is that Christie probably had only 3-4%, no matter what. All he did Saturday was shuffle the deck of the three third place finishers just ahead of him, swapping Cruz and Rubio around. Christie was going to finish 5th or 6th no matter what.

Right on! I’m sure Trump knows the qualifications of dozens of talented people for each post he would need to fill. No worries about that!
I suspect his campaign suspension will soon be forthcoming. Fiorina should be dropping out soon as well. Carson should, but won’t. Of Rubio, Kasich, and Bush I expect that Nevada and South Carolina will do in two of the three. Which two remains to be seen.
I dont think the NWO cabal has ever cared about what the people want, so whichever one can deliver for them is their candidate, Kasich if not Bush, it just cannot be Trump or Cruz as they both have the appearance (from the outside at least) of not playing their game,
Kasich doesn’t have much name recognition or support beyond Iowa and the North East, clearly Bush is their preferred, but your right if this goes on much longer with Bush floundering in the dust at 6% the people might start to figure out they don’t have much of a say in who gets selected when he ultimately appears on the ticket,

In addition to your spot-on commentary, Christie has morphed into the male version of Christine Todd Whitman, a real RINO, just with a smart mouth.He has been a huge disappointment in NJ, and the GOP has had no coattails with him.
My former state of NJ is very beautiful once you get on either side of the NJ Turnpike, but under his stewardship, it is almost collapsing. The people in NJ are fed up with him, and he did almost nothing after Hurricane Sandy, especially when he could have helped people with the abuses of the insurance industry, which were legion.
I left NJ ten years ago, realizing it had no future. I have two sons still there but itching to get out of Dodge.
When they do leave, they will be backfilled by illegals that are a net cost to the State.
Like California and Illinois, NJ is in a death spiral.
NJ was a center of innovation, industry, education and forward thinking. No more.
I live now in southern DE, which is actually the beginning of the South. Low taxes, no sales tax, ocean, farms, nice folks who still tend to go to church, and the bounty of nature all around (including the processing of two million chickens a week).
As a Texan, I can answer that for you: it won't. It's not just DC we're pi$$ed at, it's the entire DC to Wall Street corridor, and that includes high tax states like NJ.
I could probably live with Kasich, then again I haven't had my second cup of coffee yet.
Thanks very much for telling me the truth about the Garden State under Governor Christie. I knew that his popularity rating had tanked and that it wasn’t due to Bridge-Gate.
I’ve almost always viewed him as a smart-mouthed bully who likely did his best work practicing law. When Trump is POTUS, I wouldn’t mind were he to appoint Christie Attorney General if only to prosecute Hillary et. al. LOL.
I’m happy you got out of NJ and hope your sons can too and ASAP. Time is of the essence.
I don't mind Rubio as much as most people around here do. Out of all the wannabees, he seems to be the one who could best embrace Trump's vision for the US, and has strengths where Trump has gaps in his background. Add to that, Rubio has run what seems to be a clean campaign.

Why on earth would Trump waste time knocking Marco Rubio? Time management is one of Trump’s skills.
Watching Christie go after Rubio all I could think was that the next thing Christie was going to say was, “Get in my belly!”

I completely agree with what you say here.
But that's exactly the opposite of what Trump is saying. He is promising a "quick fix" for everything, with lower taxes, better jobs, a stronger defense, cheaper and better healthcare, all magically appearing due to "good deals" and paid for by Somebody Else, Not Me.
Now if we had a candidate who told the truth about how much of America's seed corn had already been wasted, and how we need a couple of decades of blood, toil, tears and sweat to start paying our debts, I'd get behind that person 100 percent and never waver.
Slim chance of that though.....
