I am indeed here in the Hawkeye State. Despite being a lifelong Iowan, I can't understand why anyone would let this place be the first in the nation for any political event(s), as it is an anomaly in so many ways. Nonetheless, every four years the circus comes to town.
If there is a silver lining to the situation, it is this: there is no better way to annoy media people and most city slickers than to make them come to Iowa in the Winter.
