Shortly after Barack Obama swept into the White House while giving Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid a coattail Marxist Congress, Newsweek Magazine ran the cover "We're all Socialists now,"...
...it took until last night before it was literally true, as New Hampshire gave a full-throated socialist a rout over semi-socialist Hillary Clinton on the Democrat side and the once and now apparently again socialist Donald Trump won...
...In case you missed the final score, it was Bernie by about 18 over Hillary and Trump by about 18 over John Kasich. Yes, John Kasich. ...
...Trump has flirted with socialist talking points and ideas for decades, including...
..."Trump has promised to allow the government to negotiate drug prices â a common position among Democrats but rarely heard at nominally Republican events. He said he would not raise military spending, arguing that the nation's defenses can be improved without increasing its already huge Pentagon budget. He promised tough sanctions on American companies that move jobs overseas."
Think about that. He's full Bernie on the military, and instead of rolling back our liberal government to entice companies to stay onshore or move onshore, Trump wants to sic the IRS on companies...
..."Trump was, in other words, in full populist mode as he wrapped up his New Hampshire campaign." York understates. He was in full Bernie Socialist mode. Meanwhile, daughter Ivanka Trump yesterday insisted that "from day one, my father has set the agenda for both parties."
Indeed he has. It sounds a lot like Bernie's socialist agenda. And he and Bernie both won. Beam me up, Scotty...

We’re talking about US socialists.
Yes, Trump is a total wrecking ball. If you want to stake life on being able to re-build an America based on its original principles from the rubble.
How are things in Germany? No much in the news here in the States..
>> âVision of the Anointedâ By Sowell covered that territory pretty well <<
Absolutely! Can’t be beat for a critique of the liberal-progressive world view.
Moerover, since Sowell and Jonah Goldberg both understand so well the historical roots of “progressive” ideology (a/k/a “rule by experts”), I’d say it’s no accident that they both are among the most articulate critics of Dear Leader Trump.
mopping up? It’s 1-1 - and last cycle’s NH winner got creamed in SC. SC usually does the opposite of NH.
you’re being totally dishonest and intellectually vapid to claim that everyone opposing Trump is an open borders person. Life is easy to explain when truth doesn’t matter to you I guess.
A teenage girl has just complained of being molested by a foreigner at the local train station.
Meanwhile the head of Angela Merkel's sister political party here in Bavaria is trying to get the sanctions against Russia eliminated. America should watch Germany very closely that it does not pull away from NATO to trade with Russia and China. Putin is not as benign as many Americans believe, indeed there is a small but virulent movement here to blame America for every disturbance in the world and to exalt Vladimir Putin.
>> there is a small but virulent movement here to blame America for every disturbance in the world and to exalt Vladimir Putin <<
Seems to me that Trump might be able to make a “deal” with them.
BUMP!
You (rightly so) have criticized Trump for attacking other candidates from the left.
I think you need to do a restart. Describing Trump as a socialist, or just like Bernie is NOT the right way to attack him, it's similar to Trump criticizing from the left.
Not the best form, and simply untrue.
There IS a conservative case for Trump, and it's one that is important to understand clearly. He's NOT the clear conservative candidate, he will not be a full conservative as president, it's likely we'll be bitten in the butt multiple times. It's the central things he speaks about, those are the things that form the conservative case for Trump, and they make it well.

“youâre being totally dishonest and intellectually vapid to claim that everyone opposing Trump is an open borders person. Life is easy to explain when truth doesnât matter to you I guess.”
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but people need a thick skin here. At least I’m polite about it. In fact, just today you guys called me a Nazi (yet again) for supporting Trump.
“mopping up? It’s 1-1 - and last cycle’s NH winner got creamed in SC. SC usually does the opposite of NH.”
If you think the polls will flip against Trump after NH, more power to you...because they won’t, unless he SERIOUSLY messes up.
That's an excellent point!
Just the same, my main consideration before hiring the applicant for the U.S. gov't chief exec job is trying to figure out what policies he's going to push. I've seen a lot of loony left-wing ideologues who were very successful in private business --they called it "accommodating the existing system". The policies Trump keeps promising me is that he's going to expand gov't power to control private spending and private businesses. That, and he promises to take rich peoples money and give it to the oppressed masses.
So if he ain't a socialist, he'll do until a real one comes along....
Or maybe it's freepers attempting to fool us into thinking they're conservative. We got a lot of loopy left-wing Marxists on these threads so in love w/ import tax hikes to support the oppressed masses that they flat out admit that if they can't vote for Trump they're backing Bernie.
They still insist they're 'conservative' freepers too...
We have a conservative in the race who wants border security.
