In most societies you come home and CELEBRATE your promotion.

Over there, you come home with that look of dread and terror on your face, and have to deal with a wife SCREAMING at you for being so STUPID as to be noticed and promoted.

LOL. Probably true. The only way to make sure you dodge the death would be to become pre-emptive. Find someone, frame him with heinous crime, and have him executed or assassinated. That is the way to earn Kim Jong-un’s trust and stay alive.

The greatest risk to the dear leader is someone below him garnering too much admiration or support. Which might be a good definition of “factionalism”.

They say that Assad maintained control by dealing directly with 50 or so people in the government. These people didn’t know each other, there were no high level meetings as that might be a chance for them to conspire.

1. NEVER hint that the Fat Boy is fat.

2. NEVER make jokes about his haircut.

3. NEVER doodle in your little notepad when the Fat Boy is speaking.
