Howdy, Mr. P! I was wondering where you were!

I’m sort of the same as y’all, no matter what the results said! LOL!

I was in Vancouver attending a concert at the Vancouver Playhouse. Andras Schiff came into town to perform the final piano sonatas of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Crossing the border took mere seconds both ways.

The finale of the Schubert B-flat Sonata is hard to make work because of its stop-and-start nature, but Schiff laid down this beautiful line on the piano that held it all together.

I met a wonderful lady, a retired surgeon, who came to Vancouver from Boston eight years ago, and who sat next to me. We had long conversations about music and rail travel. Unfortunately, she's married. Oh well.
