Why Jeb Bush shouldn't be counted out just yet
Washington Post ^ | 2/8/16 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 02/08/2016 10:51:01 AM PST by jimbo123

Impatient with Jeb Bush's attacks on Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a segment of the conservative punditocracy wants Bush to get out quickly so as to block both Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) from getting the nomination by virtue of a split among "somewhat conservative" Republicans. Saturday's debate, however, opened up an interesting possibility.

Few before the debate expected Rubio to win New Hampshire; now, fewer do. But the expectation since Iowa has been that he would take second, by a comfortable margin. What if that does not occur because either Cruz or Ohio Gov. John Kasich effectively tie or even surpass Rubio?

“GOP establishment looks at Rubio crashing and burning and Jeb is on life support.

Rest of RINOs in single digits.

What are they to do?”

Supporters of the single-digit RINOs have to coalesce around somebody, and that somebody now appears not to be Rubio. My guess is either Christie or Kasich.

Quick, someone post a photo of Dowd as an antidote.

Preferably a pre-2000 photo.

What are they to do?

The same thing a guy I played chess with in high school: flip the board over and declare a draw rather than lose. Rove will burn the party down rather than let a non-GOPe candidate win.

I don’t want any of the RINO’s to quit. I want them to keep splitting the RINO votes as many ways as possible. We already have the conservative vote being split so many ways (Cruz/Trump/Carson)...The last thing we need is the RINO vote unifying behind one candidate opposite a split conservative vote.

Stick a fork in Jeb & Kacich.

The Establishment will group around Rubio & Christie. But both have major issues.

Rubio: Amnesty & being tagged a sweaty speech robot.

Christie: The infamous “Obama Hug”

I see christie winning 3rd and having his moment in the sun before SC & NV blow him up.

Is Kasich replacing Rubio and Jebe as the golden boy wonder, financed by the $oro$ open borders thugs and the GOPe open border thugs?

Soros advisor gave $200k to boost Kasich

A close associate and protage of far-left activist billionaire George Soros gave a super PAC supporting Ohio Gov. John Kasich $200,000, the third largest contribution made to Kasich presidential effort as of the end of 2015.

Soros, who has given $7 million to a PAC backing Hillary Clinton this election cycle, is a huge backer of all things liberal. This election, Soros has made clear his opposition to the GOP front-runners, saying: We must reaffirm our commitment to the principles of open society and resist the siren song of the likes of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, however hard that may be.

Kasich is poised to halt the momentum of either Trump or Cruz should he have a strong showing in New Hampshire. The latest RealClearPolitics polling average puts Kasich tied for third with Sen. Marco Rubio in the Granite State at 10.7 percent, just a point behind Cruz.

The Kasich super PAC New Day For America received the $200,000 in the form of two separate contributions from Scott Bessent, then-chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management LLC, Federal Election Commission data analysed by the Center for Responsive Politics show. He also made the largest personal donation allowed by law directly to Kasich campaign, $2,700.

Jeb Bush: Makes political hay about Trump attempting to purchase an elderly woman's property through eminent domain, while sending his 90+ year old mother to campaign for him in snowy, icy New Hampshire.

No, Jeb. Just.......go.........home...........already!

Jeb is the RNC candidate. Primary votes and earned delegate count do not really matter. His Nomination of lack thereof will be the result of an RNC calculation that does not include the winning of the Election.

We need just a little faith in poor, lonely Jeb, and a little faith in combative Christie, and a little faith in obscure Kasich who hasn’t angered anyone much, and a little faith (but not too much) in diverse Rubio. Let’s keep the RINO wing divided.

Sorry I like you, but I want a second opinion from a medical person re your comment above. Jeb reminds of me of a bit actor in the movie, The Walking Dead!
