Since you asked, it appears the “Vets Charity” is probably a 501c(3) - most are. If that’s correct, they cannot accept an award at a campaign event. It’s too political and hazards their not for profit status.
So they were correct to decline the offer at the venue. It isn’t about pride or “dirty” Trump money. It’s about the law and taxes.
I would think indifferent, as long as the funds are made available through some charity.
The man has already helped at least 10 families. He has nothing to prove to you. Go out and help 10 families yourself and leave him alone.
