Pennsylvania recently became the first state to launch a federal campaign to stop sexual assault on college campuses.

The national initiative was announced in 2014 by President Barack Obama with the goal of building a movement to address, respond to and ultimately prevent sexual violence. A local "On Us PA" launched in late January.

Gov. Tom Wolf called the President's plan the first "real crusade" against sexual assault.

It aims to mobilize citizens to take action through local government, service organizations and school systems. In Pennsylvania, Franklin and Marshall College, Butler County Community College and the State System of Higher Education Chancellor Frank Brogan have signed on, along with several schools.

One in five women and one in 16 men are sexually assaulted while in college, according to the National Criminal Justice Reference Service. More than 90 percent of victims of sexual assaults on campus do not report it to authorities.

Pennsylvanians are invited to take the “It’s On Us” pledge online.

Fail at what? It's stated purpose? Of course it will fail at that, but that's not its real purpose. See Ayn Rand.

Better yet, read GULAG and IRON CURTAIN by Anne Applebaum.

Do you think college students are going to be celibate?

I was.

Some will, but most will not.

And those who are not will take their chances with VD, unwanted pregnancy, social drama, and (now) being presumed guilty of rape.

Right. My reference was to: "Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. Etc.

The problem is that they have taken God out of these kids lives.

That's a problem but I think the real issue here is that for a generation we've raised kids with the idea that they are all special snowflakes who deserve to get a trophy no matter what and if they don't get their way then someone else is to blame. Their sense of entitlement is so high that they feel it's just dandy to cry rape if their one night stand doesn't call them the next day. Hurt feelings that in prior generations might make us a little blue but we'd move on eventually now morph into "someone must pay". And who better than the government or the school bureaucracy to turn to to punish those that irritated you?

R-I-G-H-T. Return to segregated schooling, maybe?

How ‘bout just pass a law no woman can be w/out the accompaniment of at least one male member of their own family while we’re at it?

“Dude is SO screwed! I walked into the room and he was sitting on the couch and a chick was there...all by herself. Call the cops, NOW!”

How ‘bout we start prosecuting the SH!T out of the little-girls-crying-wolf instead? Duke Lax, part deux/trois...

You are correct. That is exactly what happens. So I NEVER go anywhere in dorms or gyms or other areas without witnesses or groups.

I cannot afford even the slightest hit on my character or testimony. So i do not take chances.

Easiest way to never be in a bar fight, is never be in a bar. Easiest way to keep from getting in trouble around women, is do not be around women.

So you would rather blame the victim of unjust prosecution than the unjust prosecution?

So if a woman in an islamic country is stoned to death because she is caught holding hands with some guy or walking around without her head scarf or whatever, you don't condemn the barbarism of sharia, but the actions of the woman?

Why don't you read what I wrote, and refrain from reading into what I wrote.

I agree that those who fool around before marriage take their chances with disease and pregnancy. However, the fact that men are presumed guilty in a he said/she said is just wrong. The fact is a guy may be accused without even having sex with a woman, as was already pointed out by another poster, and he is presumed guilty. This is just crazy. It’s insane land.
