Full Title: Cruz Says Drafting Women 'Doesn't Make Any Sense' and Cruz called America's enemies, not its soldiers, "psychopaths."
Peterborough, N.H.- Ted Cruz came out against requiring 18-year-old women to register for the Selective Service and the possibility of being drafted into the military. At a campaign event here Sunday afternoon, Cruz responded to some of his rivals, like Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush, who said in Saturday's debate that women should have to register.
"It was striking that three different people on that stage came out in support of drafting women into combat in the military," Cruz said. "I didn't have an opportunity to respond to that particular question. But I have to admit as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was, 'Are you guys nuts?'"
Cruz vowed not to change the current policy as president. "Political correctness is dangerous, and the idea that we would draft our daughters to forcibly bring them into the militarily and put them in close combat I think is wrong. It is immoral, and if I'm president, we ain't doing it," he said.
Cruz referred to the fact that while he loves his two daughters and believes they can do anything they want, the government should not force them into a situation where they might see combat with enemies in a war zone.

I’m for Trump, but I love Ted Cruz. He is one of the most heroic persons in the US Senate. If not the most heroic senator currently. I would gladly vote for him for president. I would never say a bad thing about that good man. I think a lot of Trump supporters feel just as I do. So why put down the whole bunch of us for the stupidity of a few?

You assumed “they” meant all Trump supporters. It doesn’t. It refers to those who lie incessantly about Cruz and any others. That’s it.
Your opinion of divorce laws has no bearing on the draft. Divorce laws should be changed. The solution to them isn’t to draft women into the military.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it is not a conservative one. In fact this is one of Obama’s goals which he was unable to implement.
A voluntary military is much stronger than a compulsory one.

there are a lot more responsible , well trained and
self disciplined people in their society , per capita ,
than ours . We are ridden with millions of millions of basically shiftless youth who refuse to straighten up and get their noses out of their phones . Tatooed prima-donnas who can think of nothing better to do that vote for bernie sanders because they think he will legalize pot .
Whether it’s used or not , cause them to have to sign up . A small doze of reality would be good for them .
I think I see your point. We have a generation (or more) that really need to be taught about their responsibilities and duties to society. I am more than a little concerned though about who the youth might be accountable to. I do not trust our modern public schools, and I do not trust the homo-sexualized, politically-shaped, modern military, as much as I appreciate the willingness of those who serve putting their lives on the line. We certainly do not need a domestic force like Obama envisioned.
the military means to me, and will be, thoroughly purged after Obama is out of there. All of his sycophant minions will be encouraged to retire, just as his regime encourage all of those fantastic combat leaders and war fighters to retire. It’s the brown nosers turn to meet the boot. after that it is very likely that are noble American military tradition will return. In force
