Donald Trump shushed Jeb Bush during a feisty exchange between the two Republican candidates on eminent domain.
Trump was asked a question about eminent domain and he defended it, provoking Bush to interject that Trump used it to build a "limousine parking lot for his casino in Atlantic City."
When Bush moved to interrupt the real estate mogul, Trump raised one finger to his lips.
"Quiet," Trump said to Bush. The audience booed, and Trump said the booing was because of all the wealthy donors in the audience.
"The RNC told us we have all donors in the audience. And the reason they're not loving me is I don't want their money," Trump said, as the crowd continued to boo.

The degree of The Donald showing politeness to the Power Couple was because both knew the other side was packing heat.
The Power Couple does not always understand the protocol, however. They, both of them, will sneer at people they KNOW are armed.
Trump’s view of the use of eminent domain is crony capitalism at its worst. Keystone is a red herring. It’s a public works project, just like hydroelectric dams and power lines.
Business owners and politicians in collusion with each other to abuse eminent domain laws in a way that greases each other’s palms should be abhorrent to conservatives, let alone the fact that it is an unconstitutional use of the law. I don’t care if SCOTUS gave it the green light - it’s unconstitutional.
The argument of eminent domain supporters (re Trump) is that the tax revenues benefit the community. Bunk. Conservatives do not support the government receiving more taxes in any way, shape or form. Conservatives believe that we are the better stewards of our money, not government.
If one agrees that increased tax revenues are justifiable in the case of eminent domain, then one has no right to oppose increased tax revenues in any situation. How about a tax on gun ownership? Should be just fine to you if the taxes are used to build roads and bridges. How about higher gas taxes? Taxes on junk food and big gulps? Same.
Either many Freepers have been deluded into believing that anything Trump does is justifiable, they haven’t thought it through, they’re really liberals at heart, or they’re just plain stupid.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out how so many people can be so misguided. Do you have an explanation?
Pipelines just like power lines are considered for public use. Pipelines are considered necessary for nation defense.
Just because you aren’t smart enough to know that doesn’t mean nobody else is.
“For the life of me, I canât figure out how so many people can be so misguided. Do you have an explanation?”
More than a few are actually Clintonites in Trump drag.
If you notice more than a few of their talking points are recycled talking points from when B Clinton ran for president.
Most notable is the reworded “character doesn’t matter” talking point from Clinton’s 1992 election.
Trump’s position on any given subject before he started running for president doesn’t matter the only thing that matters is what he says now.
You don't get it. Trump turned the crowd booing him to his advantage. He pointed out the GOPEE had filled the audience with big donors. So, everytime they booed him they were pointing out that GOPEE stacked the audience.
Priebus is spending the day getting a change of clothing.
It's a private venture. That was already vetted here. You are not entitled to your own private facts.
Trump mentioned that there where mostly doners in the audience and probably many demorats.
How sanctimonious of you. Maybe some us support Trump because we want an outsider who (1) accomplished more in life than arguing before the supreme court, (2) who tells it like it is and doesn't get wobbly in the knees when asked about waterboarding (3) brought the subject of illegal immigration to the fore, etc,.
Read Trumps platform on his website. It's not too different from Teds. So, based on your logic, Ted is a liberal too,
I just heard people attacking eminent domain , which was idiotic. Then Trump called them out and they tried add a bunch of nuance.
I think Trump ran the table on this one.
“Trump turned the crowd booing him to his advantage.”
Art of the deal...
Did you notice that Bush immediatelt shut up?
A real follower!
Ok. I was wrong on the public works reference. But that doesn't matter. Eminent domain still applies re Keystone (see the reference below). The only rationale as to why Trump's casino parking lot venture fits eminent domain requirements is that it's to the public benefit to have more tax revenues raised than a single homeowner would generate. With that reasoning, higher taxes on anything are to the public benefit. Conservatives oppose higher taxes because they believe that the individual, not the "state", are better stewards over their hard earned money.
However, what many may not know is that eminent domain is not only used for government and public entities, but by law, it can also be used by companies in order to build non-government infrastructure projects such as extensive utility projects, railroads and pipelines. These non-government infrastructure projects are considered under the law to be in the public interest and few, if any, could be completed without the use of eminent domain. - See more at: http://keystone-xl.com/why-eminent-domain-is-important-and-appropriate/#sthash.UUoXFDtx.dpuf
“Tough Guy!” Trump mocks...
No, that’s not what happened at all. Everybody understands eminent domain for public use projects - including railroads and utilities - is legitimate. The Kelo decision wouldn’t have caused the uproar it did if it were about them. Donnie tries to conflate the two, but he can’t hide from the fact that he believes real estate developers should have the right to take what they want, including the homes of little old ladies. Most conservatives disagree.
The partisan crowd booed, but Trump won with his ‘shush’ moment.
Those of us who see the other side where Trump took nothing from the old lady but walked away and she got nothing as well wonder the same about the side that continues the false narrative of his building a lot.
That is something that I pointed out last night after. Someone asked how hedid and I explained that part. Bush insisted the pipeline was a public works project after Trump explained that eminent domain is used for all sorts of things for the good of the nation or communities.
And before the Trump bashers start, he also stated he supports is, but does not love it.
Trump got it right again for all the world to see. He isn’t a bought and paid for shill like the rest of them, especially Jeb!
exactly. Trump nailed it and showed the corrupt GOP-e and media! He’s the ONLY omne doing this and for that and even if it were that alone, I will vote for this man!
