If the electric company would pay me for the extra electricity I could produce with solar panels, I might put some up. Now they only apply a credit toward an existing bill. I have large nearly flat roof and very low electrical usage. Of course, it would be reasonable for a deduction for management expenses, perhaps 30%.
The devil is in the details (and the taxpayer funded subsidy). And once the free ride using utility infrastructure is challenged, these solar grifters skip town.
