If everyone in the bar laughed, they must have appreciated the sexual innuendo. I don’t ever remember hearing this before. All the talk afterwards was of the sweaty upper lip. Anyway, certainly not worth arguing about.
I recently heard the incriminating tapes of Nixon at a B&N book signing. The worst was his selling of an ambassadorship, right there on the tape. We all heard it. Amazing.
It was probably hard to see sweaty upper lips in a crowded bar with the small TVs they had in those days. I’m not sure what sexual innuendo you see there. It was more just a comment on marriage.
