honor roll on their site of outstanding graduates

Such position (well deserved) honors achievements after graduation, not academic excellence while there. There is a tendency for things to blown out of proportion about Trump, both good and bad. And, when reality asserts itself for the differences between hype and reality to hit hard. Trump had a good education at a good school and deserves credit to match, but he doesn't deserve credit for what he didn't do there. He took that education, some seed money from his father and his family connections and built a lot on it. Just how much has been disputed for 30+ years and will likely continue to be disputed the rest of his career. But no one denies it's 'a lot.'

Which candidate spends a lot of time talking about his money? Ever wonder why?

It's a measure of success and accomplishment. Politicians brag about votes made and bills passed to demonstrate their success; what's wrong with businessmen bragging about products delivered and profits pocketed as the measure of their success?

Around 1:26 into the debate a question about heroin addiction came up.

This might become an significant issue that Bush in particular will try to exploit. I don't think it will work but wanted you be be aware of somethings I've learned.

Recovering addicts are a huge segment of the population. I'm not sure the size I've seen 10%.

I was in a cafe about 10 month ago and heard a strategy being hatched by activists (Film Director Greg Williams "Anonymous People" - I googled him while overhearing I wasn't trying to listen).

He was in the process of talking to a wealthy guy (I googled him too) To make recovery a large issue in this election.

It sounded like they had significant connections into the Clinton and Bush campaigns.

Something to be aware of if we see GWB is signing in a telethon with Kitty Dukakis anytime soon.

I get your point and agree with you I wish Trump would emphasis the same thing by pointing out the 30K plus jobs he has created over his life time.

I understand a job - a billion dollars unfortunately I have yet to have experience and understand its consequence - willing to broaden my mind though!

Pre-Kelo eminent domain could only be used in narrow circumstances, where it was a necessary evil. Post-Kelo it can be used for anything, limited only by the chutzpah of the person applying it. Claims of increased future tax revenues are easily conjured out of thin air and are often proven false as they were in the case of Kelo itself. The standard for involuntarily taking property needs to be restored to it's former high level. A lot DID get done under it.

My analogy is precise. Trump wanted to take her house for a limo stand, I posit Bloomberg taking Trumps for a cab stand. One house and one stand were fancier, but functionally the same. 'NO case can be made,' is obviously false: people MAKE ludicrous cases all the time. Like the one Trump's friends made in court on her house trying to get Trump a limo stand. No GOOD case can be made for the cab stand? Probably. But perhaps one could argue Trump's accountants were so clever that the city wasn't receiving its optimal tax loot from there and might get more out of a bunch of cabbies with inferior tax accountants. Or maybe some organization just hated Trump and was out to get him without any good excuse. Pre-Kelo the law was there to protect the little guy and often did. Post-Kelo, if you've got enough dough, connections and lawyers the little guy gets trampled.

However, what most people instinctivey understood from the start, and a major reason that Trump is so popular with the common person, is that a person with a billion dollars is probably in a better position to help them make a hundred thousand dollars, than is any politician.

Exactly what I have said all along.

I would add although Carson was the target of this tactic, the true victim would be any voter who changed a vote based on false information ( i.e. lie) put out by members of another candidate’s organization during the voting process.

I seem to be in the minority. Saying ‘everybody does it’, ‘nobody was hurt,’ ‘it’s his own fault’ or anything else is what my kids tried back in the day. As I would tell my kids, it is still wrong.

I admit, I never bothered counting days who was ahead. I do remember Cruz was ahead of Trump a few days before the caucus.

Now would you admit what Cruz campaign did in Iowa was a dirty trick and unworthy of a person who believes ardently in the bible? Otherwise it smacks of H....y.

No, because the issue wasn’t what Cruz did and you changing the subject isn’t going to work here.

The premise of your argument was a lie. The premise of your argument was that Trump did better than expected because Cruz was the front runner in Iowa and always expected to win.

That was a lie. Your premise was false and therefore your conclusion was false.

I’m not going to allow you to change the subject. I’m not going to allow you to control the narrative with lies. I’m not going to allow you to try to declare a lie and then say it’s no big deal because of X, Y, and Z.

You lied. You repeated the lie. You continue the lie.

You, sir, are a liar.

The thread at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3387360/posts?q=1&;page=101 goes over a lot.

Or you can see my posts starting with the posts on this page: http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/by:butterdezillion/index?more=97401228 The comments flesh out a little more what I’m talking about.

An EMP attack happens when a nuclear bomb is detonated at the right altitude so that it doesn’t inflict a lot of material damage/death but it creates a pulse that destroys electronics except those protected against exposure to this pulse. “One Second” AFter” is a book that describes the effects. The TV series “Jericho” also depicted the effects. There would be no electricity and no electronics would work. Only very old cars would work but the only fuel available would be what was in the vehicle because gas stations use electricity to pump the gas. (Same thing with water) That means cars would be stuck where they were when the EMP hit. No goods could be transported via truck. What a person has is just what is in their house or what they can steal from stores or somebody else. No communications except ham radio. And all this stuff would remain that way for years.

The Congressional Research Office did a study of this and IIRC I think they were saying that 30 million? would be expected to die from the starvation, dehydration, violence, and sickness that would result. IIRC that was just talking about the effects of an EMP. There are now “Super EMP’s” that would be worse. If I understand correctly the bomb that North Korea just tested would be in the range of a super-EMP.

The chaos that existed in Ferguson or Baltimore would be a walk in the park compared to even ONE DAY following an EMP attack - much less (for instance) 2 months of it prior to what was supposed to be a Trump or Cruz inauguration. The only law enforcement would be local law enforcement. When they run out of bullets that’s it. None of their vehicles would work. The vehicles that would work would be military - and of course if this happened in November or December Obama would be in control of the military. Massive amounts of body bags would be needed - good thing FEMA has stocked up, eh? ‘Cause Janet Napolitano said there was gonna be an event like this in the near future, and one of the dem Congress-critters said it was imminent and inevitable. It won’t be a matter of what is in the Constitution or laws at that point; it will be a matter of what CAN be done amidst all that chaos, if the POTUS-elect is even still alive after 2 months of that.

Keep in mind also that there are Islamist sleeper cells all over the nation - and more and more being let in daily by the Foreign Enemy Combatant in our White House. Their goal has always been to take over the USA so that the USA no longer exists but is conquered by the Islamic caliphate. The communist plan (which Obama is personally involved in, as you’ll see if you look at the page of posts I just linked to) has always been to divide up the USA to give to world communists. Either way, the USA would cease to exist. Sleeper cells would presumably use the chaos to take over state capitols and from there target the federal government. Obama’s buddy Hugo Chavez allowed Iran to fly Hamas and Hezbollah operatives in unchecked flights from Iran to Venezuela. Unchecked flights means they could bring whatever biological or chemical agents they had (and I have more about that in my other posts also). And Obama has been deliberately holding the door open for all of this for 7 years. Finishing off the USA for good would probably take less than the 2 extra years beyond Obama’s 2 terms, so Obama could well be in our White House for “8 to 10 years” under that plan (see below for the 8-10 year reference)

These EMPs can be delivered by missile or by satellite and North Korea and Iran have both tested the delivery pattern necessary to deliver a nuke at EMP altitudes. We would not be able to detect it if it came via the southern hemisphere because we have a hole in our radar defense. We’ve had that hole for decades and nothing was ever done about it because our enemies either didn’t have a bomb or didn’t have the means to deliver it via the southern hemisphere. Both of those things have changed under Obama; he’s been working very hard to make us vulnerable. IIRC Venezuela offered Iran a launching base for missiles (which is southern hemisphere) and I think Iran and/or North Korea also have a satellite that may be capable of delivering a nuke. All this came out when North Korea did a nuke test a couple years ago; Congress has done nothing to patch that radar hole.

In July of 2008 Obama said in an interview that he would be POTUS for “the next 8-10 years”. Jake Tapper immediately ridiculed Obama the Constitutional expert’s stupid statement. But I suspect that the plan always was for Obama to be a 10-year place-holder to allow his communist-Islamist masters to have free rein over the whole system to get us to the point of being able to actually dismantle the USA through a well-timed hit by our enemies (that Obama has worked hard to arm, finance, train, excuse, and hold the door open for)

This is just a quick overview. There’s a BUNCH more information in my other posts, to substantiate why I suspect Obama’s owners of planning this. This scenario would absolutely keep a new POTUS-elect from being inaugurated, and right now there is NOTHING to stop it. In fact, we just found out that DHS operatives were ordered to destroy intel on known terrorists. So not only is Obama holding the door open for these people (at increasing rates all the time), he also is giving them an invisibility cloak once they’re here so our intel can’t find them to keep us protected (absolute treason!).

This is serious stuff. I could tell you some of the crimes committed to put Obama into our White House and keep him there, but the number one priority is to protect lives right now. And I REALLY think we are reaching a point of no return unless the people we elect/hire to protect us get their hands out of their pants and actually do what they’ve been given to do. Obama has been fiddling (and we’re all being distracted by campaign dramatics) while our enemies have been winding the boa around our necks to a critical level. It may be too late already. Do we go down fighting the enemy and trying to defend our children and neighbors, or do we hassle over campaign theatrics?

And you sir condone dirty tricks in election campaigns. You are no better than a common criminal. I admitted my mistake as a man about mis-quoting who was the leading in Iowa in polls. But you obviously are can not man up.

You were not misquoting, you were basing your entire argument on a lie. Then when called out, you doubled down on in.

And once it was clear you had lied, you changed the direction and tried to avoid it.

You only made it about “dirty tricks” after your lie was exposed.

You are disgraceful.

When you state a fact and it is proven wrong, you don’t get to say “Well, yeah, but so and so did this!”

We weren’t talking about so-and-so, we were talking about your lying.

Children change the subject when they are caught in lies. Liars change the parameters of the discussion when they try to deceive.

You were caught in a bald faced lie. And that’s the end of it.
