Why? Cause Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Grant, and especially Benjamin.

Because the NFL excels at spectacle. All NFL games have more pomp and celebration than they truly deserve. The commercials are really Apple’s fault, they’re the ones who put a commercial in the SB they never put anywhere else (except of course it gets played in any show about SB commercials) and turned it into a venue. Of course with those ratings advertisers do want to put their best foot forward, but Apple blew it up.

It’s about the money. These few groups makes millions off taxpayers and donations.

It is kinda funny. When they had the first Super Bowl in the Detroit area, Pontiac. Went for a late night service call for one of the downtiwn Pontiac banks. Usually a very boring trip. Well you would not believe the parade of cars driving down the main boulevard. And/or the woman sitting on them. Kept wondering to myself, do they even know where they are ?

I was in Superbowl City last weekend for business.
Someone would have to pay ME $1000 to go again.

NFL was brilliant to give us an annual spectacle to break up the mid-winter blues and blahs

Good point. Doesn’t bother me a bit.

Another good point.

These are all the same types of events though. I wouldn’t consider Mardi Gra to be an “all American activity”, but it actually is another American event that folks celebrate en mas.

It’s a social gathering of people from all over. It’s great.

It’s the American culture on parade. We should relish all these things.

Works for me.

I have been informed there are other even bigger events, and those are great too.

We should celebrate these manifestations of American culture.

Rub in in some people’s faces, if you catch my drift.

Maybe 0bama will shout it from the rooftops to the Muzlum community much like he telegraphs our military moves to them.

When they had it in Indianapolis in February 4 yrs ago they had a lotta hoopla, but it was mostly indoors at the convention center which is really big. Also other indoor venues in town.

I assume if they ever did it at Lambeau, the hoopla would be in Milwaukee?

That will never happen They had a Super Bowl in Detroit, but that was in a dome, and they weren’t eager to repeat it.

Plus, Green Bay is not a good destination to attract people.

Actually Indianapolis SB was considered to be quite a success and I expect the 2018 SB in Minneapolis to be equally so.
