Greed is not illegal.
I’m a Conservative. I believe in the marketplace. The guy is facing criminal charges. The people who wrote those laws are asking him questions. He’s a fool if he helps them in any way.
If a trial says that he’s a greedy guy who broke some laws, then he gets punished.
If a trial says he’s a greedy guy, he goes home like any American.
If you believe that a "marketplace" exists in pharmaceuticals, you're nuts. This "marketplace" is created and sustained by Federal and state laws and regulations, which were enacted for the benefit (supposedly) of the population. The drug in question (pyrimethamine) is manufactured for pennies and has existed for decades. No inventiveness, creativity, or risk-taking is involved.
It is an artefact of regulation that allows this guy to "capture" the product and charge $750 for a pill that costs him almost nothing.
If this activity is what you mean by "the marketplace", even if perfectly legal, then get ready for President Sanders.
