I’m convinced the GOPe was assured that this election was theirs for the taking (Hillary? No way). But then Trump and Cruz got in the way. But they are being assured the media can take them out of contention. That just leaves Rubio standing in their way.
They can just taste the presidency, all of the GOPe, which is why one doesn’t see them closing up shop, at a time when you would expect a number of candidates to fold. If they can hold on just a week longer, everything will change, they think.
Moreover, they aren’t going for Cruz and Trump, all the GOPe seems to be gunning for Rubio, because he sits in the heir-apparent spot, behind Cruz and Trump.
Rubio is the GOPe.
