She failed as a parent, plain and simple. Sorry it ended so badly for her but her foolishness led to it.
This is beyond being a failed parent.
Most parents who fail do so because they were abusive or negligent.
Then there are others like this lady who have such a distorted world view that they mess up their kids lives on top of their own.
Lot of that going around.
