40%!!!??? What Happened? Liability suits? Or is it because a barrel of oil is cheaper than sin these days?
2 things happened:
- the price of gas has crashed down to on-par with the overhead per-mileage cost of driving an EV (electricity is cheap, but EVs still cost >$10,000 more than an equivalent gas car)
- Georgia ended its huge $5000 lease-or-buy EV tax credit, making the Nissan Leaf practically free for 2 years; ending that crashed the biggest EV market.

The entire stock market is in a foul mood these days. It’s a combination of things, but mainly the Fed has started another tightening cycle. Any sort of bad news will punish a company severely, especially those that have appreciated significantly the past few years.
