Obama Quips That New Low Unemployment Number Is 'Inconvenient' For Republican Candidates

"Americans are working," President Obama proudly declared at a White House press conference Friday morning.

He was referring to the new jobs report that revealed unemployment has dropped to 4.9 percent - the first time it's fallen below 5 percent in 8 years.

The president also remarked on how his administration has added 14 million new jobs over his tenure and that over the past 6 months wages have risen at an impressive rate. He couldn't help pointing to falling gas prices as well.

After gleefully sharing these new numbers, Obama quipped that the supposedly successful economy is "inconvenient" for Republican stump speeches as the 2016 candidates talk about "doom and gloom."

"I guess you can't please everybody," he said.

Yet, Republicans aren't the only ones not satisfied with the numbers. Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have sparred about how to encourage the struggling middle class. Moreover, a majority of Americans continually say they are not happy with the direction America is heading.

As for those unemployment numbers, economists would argue it is more like 9.9 percent.

As Mark Twain once said, “There are lies, damn lies and statistics’

That cynical but accurate statement has held up for for over century, but the Obama Administration has come up with a new twist that requires and update on that famous saying.

The new saying, incorporating Obama Administration innovations is,” There are lies, damn lies and statistics - but most of all there are Obama Administration falsified, fraudulent and purely made up statistics”

Government says the permanently unemployed number is around 9 million, other sources set it at any peg it at anywhere between 30 to 98 million, depending who you believe. Even relatively conservative actual estimates put the real percentage in the mid to high teens, some as high as the mid to upper twenty percent.

“And the answer is “no” because of H1B visa workers undercutting jobs and wages and greedy corporations shifting jobs overseas for profits.”

Yep, a reality I will likely experience within a year. This has been coming longer than the obama years, but he has certainly accelerated it.

“Americans are working,” President Obama proudly declared at a White House press conference Friday morning.

That is true. It is what we do. Except we used to work full time one job. Now under 8 years of you we work part time and sometimes several jobs. Thanks dirt bag..........

95,000,000 million able bodied Americans not working that is an excellent achievement - it will be very inconvenient for Republicans when the U3 number reaches 0% - that’s when no one is working.

There is no metric by which this economy is better than now than it was in 2008 in fact had Obama done absolutely nothing in the wake of the 2008 financial and housing collapse the recovery would have happened 5 year quicker and it would have created real jobs not fake numbers...

Obama lives in Say anything land..... The real concern should be how the media actually lets him get away with it...

Obama has just confirmed that the Department of Labor has been politicized.

That brings it into line with agencies like the IRS, the EPA, the Justice Department and the INS (to name just a few).

What is inconvenient is that the federal government is now just a political tool for the progressives.

The brag number lie doesn’t count up the loafers out and about and up and at em after 10AM early in the month when the free bubbleup and rainbow stew hit parade band is playing the money burns my pocket song. One would think that their sole objective is to be out in front and in the way.

There you have it, the we’re working for Obama and loving it (non statistically significant of course) unemployment multiplier welfare takers making matters worse by adding to ussa’s 19 trillion debt that dwindling makers worry about.
Stimulating it is not, just quit spending and get out of the way government.

Considering the proviso of first time unemployed was invoked by the jester tells me that things are really not good. Making it through 7 downturn years only to get canned at his proud 5 ,additional, percent rate really sucks.
