I know the feeling. My brother got caught up in drugs but was fortunate to get himself straightened out for the most part. The effect it had on my mom and other family members was hard to deal with as well. So I definitely can relate to an extent.

This story doesn't hurt him at all. Lots of families have been hurt by the drug fiasco in this country. Very few have been spared this kind of heartache.

I just read an article about the very significant drug abuse problem in New Hampshire (nearly 500 deaths last year). Maybe that would be something Ted Cruz could mention in his campaign, perhaps with some helpful suggestions for local action.

My firsthand experience with addiction makes one thing immutably and unequivocally clear...All the efforts in the world by others will not help the victim of abuse if they're not willing to help themselves.

I am stumped at Cruz over his adoration of his father and never a mention of his mother. Daddy first went to England, leaving Ted and his Mother alone for years, then went to the US, then back to England, then back to the US where he finally decided to become a US Citizen.
