Cruz campaign accuses Rubio of hypocrisy on 'social pressure' voter mail
Washington Post ^ | 1/31/2016 | David Weigel

"Have you seen this?" asked a campaign aide for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.). He held up a smartphone with a photo of a mailer that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was bombarding Iowans with -- an "Iowa caucus report card," listing how many of the last four caucuses the recipient had been able to vote in.

"It's kind of bizarre to go out and attack us for something you're intending to do yourself," said Schultz. "It's just typical of Marco, wanting to be on every side of an issue. I've seen similar mailers in other parts of the country. I've read the social science. So it's just bizarre, in Marco's words from the Sunday shows, to act offended."

The fracas over the mailer has intensified the battle between Cruz and Rubio, with supporters of the Texas senator more convinced than ever that the media is trying to goose the news cycle for the Florida senator.

"I have known for a long time that Fox News is very enthusiastic for Marco Rubio," said King. "So when I hear those things, I know it's just spin. I think Senator Cruz wins this in a close race."

Cruz's were clearly made to look official.

Maybe Rubio intended the same fraud, but for whatever reason, his mailer looked cartoonish and clearly not from the gov't.

Rubio’s doesn’t blackmail the individual into voting by warning them that their voting history would be released to their neighbors if they don’t vote.

Ted, his wasn’t like yours, and you know it, and so do we.

If you don’t want to be accused of doing sleazy things, then stop doing sleazy things.

Rubio’s flyer also didn’t list the names of the recipients neighbors/voting record.

Ironic that untrusTED is trying to turn this one on the Rube.

Look up the definition of blackmail.

Threatening to release your private voting habits to your neighbors seems to fit.

Apparently Iowans were more concerned Trump supports government run health care better than what we have now, than Cruz mailing publicly available information to voters.

Is stupidity required to be a Trump cultist?

Voting records are public information, NOT private.

Low information is too kind when it comes to the cultists.

Voting records are public information, NOT private.

Speaking of stupid people, the voting records aren't public at all. Cruz made up the random numbers on his mailings.

Like I said, voting records are public.

How did the campaign know who has voted and how often??

Trump is stupid and doesn’t care about facts and his cultists fit right in.

Like I said, voting records are public.

No, like I said, they aren't: "In Iowa, although voter-registration information is free and available to the public, voter history is not. That information is maintained by the secretary of state, who licenses it to campaigns, super PACs, polling firms, and any other entity that might want it. So was the Cruz campaign accurately portraying the voter histories of Iowans? Or did it simply make up the numbers?" link

How did the campaign know who has voted and how often??

They didn't. They made up the numbers and bluffed the blackmail. That's why everyone always has 55 percent or 65 percent. It's randomly decided by team Cruz who put out the flier.

Lol, Google is your friend.

Google the Iowa Secretary of State web site.

There you will find that a voters registration and history is considered a public record and anyone can go in and examine the information.

Seriously, are you that stupid or you just like to make things up?

here you will find that a voters registration and history

You can get registration, that is public info. You can't get voting history. That is not public. Look it up again if you're so smart.

Your voting records are not private, other than who you voted for.

If he made it up, then it wasn’t private information either. Cruz can grade your voting any way he wants. Doesn’t mean you have to agree with it.
