We have no way of knowing what he thought about winning in Iowa but his actions afterwards are a pretty good indication that he was surprised and disappointed.
We do know what he though about winning in Iowa. We know he was disappointed. However, he explicitly refused to predict victory when asked by the media. Do you not know this?
