Perhaps Trump is getting the hang of building a ground game.
He could have invested his money into a solid ground game in Iowa instead of whining about Cruz stealing elections and do-overs. How can he build that wall if he can’t even build a ground game?
I actually thought Trump did very well in Iowa.
It was his very first election in his life, and he came in between two seasoned politicians.
For an amateur politician, he got the 2nd highest Iowa GOP caucus vote total in history.
Trump could build a wall with his eyes closed, but you have a good point, in that more attention has to be paid to the retail aspect of politics.
I hope to see that aspect evolve in his campaign.
What I have seen in NH thus far is encouraging.

Now if only you could convince me that he would appoint real conservatives to the bench. This next president could appoint up to 4 new SC justices in the next 8 years. And there goes the fate of the country.
You have identified the single most important function of the President in the next term.
I cannot convince you of anything, as I want to hear more from Trump about his positions on this.
In all other areas, I can vote for him, as we need someone from the real world who is not beholden to anyone to be the next President and shake things up. No one running can match Trump in that regard.
But we have to have better Supreme Court justices.
I am tired of them making up law out of whole cloth, when they are supposed to be the protectors of the Constitution.

her decision to endorse Trump aside, based on her life story from why she decided to get into politics in Alaska, and then hit the national scene due to McCain....I think she is 1 of the few pols in a longtime who really does care about her country and the “common people”(a term a read while reading Mark today, not sure what chapter) in it.
It’s like some of the Freepers on here who really love their country, got an opportunity to run for president and all the wanted to do is help the people that are struggling due to corrupt pols

I don’t think your comments are off base, but I see it differently. I don’t think you skip states. It would seem to say some states aren’t worthy, and I wouldn’t want to send that message.
I’m not sure he couldn’t have won it either. He didn’t, but we don’t know what the last minute shenanigans resulted in.
He may have had it won in the morning. That’s not sour grapes. I’m just not positive he didn’t.
He needed to get his feet wet somewhere. Iowa was probably a good place to break in. You could be spot on for all I know.

I never wrote that Trump should have skipped Iowa. My point was he could of focused less on Iowa & not have tried for a knockout. He still would have come in 2nd place without dirtying himself up & without the perception of being a loser.

I never said Trump should have skipped Iowa. The right tactic would have been to campaign without so much emphasis on a win, without the Cruz fight. Trump would have still come in 2nd. Trumps numbers are dropping because of the miscalculation. N.H. win may get him back on track.

You need to read my post if you are going to comment correctly. I never said Trump should have skipped Iowa.
Trump made a tactical error by putting to much emphasis on a win in Iowa...too much negative campaigning with Cruz...it left an opening for a Rubio surge. I’m a Trump supporter...but he made a mistake...we’ll see how it goes.

Trump shouldn’t have focused on an Iowa win. He still would have came in second. But he decided to try to beat up Cruz & lost voters to Rubio.

It amazes me that you think any less effort in Iowa, would have caused Trump to have a better showing.
He beat Rubio by one point, and you blame that on Trump.
Blame it on the folks who had their campaign people tell Carson’s supporters he had dropped out.

How would that have been better? Rubio would have looked stronger, and he would have been in a better position.

He got 7 delegates and Cruz got 8. It could have been six to eight if he had done any less in Iowa.
