I hope she will go old school and do it justice. I hate the singers who use the anthem as an excuse to sing scales. Give it to me straight and sincerely and not as a platform to show off. (I like to sing along.)
Every Super Bowl should have the Glee Club from one of the Service Academies sing the National Anthem, as written and backed by an Armed Forces band & color guard...and with a parachute jump preceding and a flyover following.
OK to have celebs for the playoffs. Little Big Town gave an acceptable performance this year — no frills, trills, or rills, just decent harmony.
