Trump resists staff calls to change course
National Journal ^ | 2/3/12 | Ben Schreckinger

In the lead-up to Donald Trump's loss in Iowa, staffers sought additional funding for campaign infrastructure and were denied.

Now, six days from the New Hampshire primary and looking for his first win, Trump is still refusing to shake up his ground game. He has added just one paid organizer in the state, a move that came a month ago. Instead, he is pushing ahead with plans to campaign outside of the state in the final week of voting and will count on the glamour of famous surrogates, including his sons, who plan to tour New Hampshire beginning this weekend.

But while the campaign has shifted resources into the first primary state, that move amounted to a single staffer - Stuart Jolly, a former Americans for Prosperity operative brought onto the campaign to focus on the Southern states that vote on March 1.

One person familiar with the move said Jolly was brought in because New Hampshire state director Matt Ciepielowski, a 2011 college graduate, was "in over his head."

I will stick to Reuters, this PP poll smells of politics.

“He had better win by 20 or more or it comes off as he’s fading. That’s just how this works. “

So he better blow it out by a super huge amount, or blowing out by just a huge amount will be seen as “fading”.

Ok. Maybe Cruz better come in 2nd or else he is fading. That’s just how this works...you know?

Let me guess “THAT”S NOT ACCURATE”?

”I think if Cruz had not lied about Carson ”dropping out” .”

If this allegation about Cruz turns out to be true, I will only reluctantly vote for Cruz.

I am a Trump fan. You can read my previous posts to confirm.

And if he continues to ignore the few campaign veterans he has, he will lose. And will so in short order. He said he would be willing to spend 100 mil to win the primary. He believes that the product is “Donald J. Trump” and who better to know how to sell that product than DJT himself, right? This is where the disconnect with him is. All evidence suggests he seeks and implements the counsel of his people on the job, but on this he resists because he believes he knows how to market himself better than anyone. His political staff has to figure out how to convince him to separate the persona from the national job interview he is undertaking.

He continues to believe (and as a businessman, he is right) that these big gatherings are more efficient and reach more people with less time. What he fails to understand is that if he holds an event with only 200 ppl and does it well, that it will go out to all of their FB friends, which could end up a very large number. Every description of the man I have ever read has said that he is nice, and charming, and a phenomenal listener, especially in smaller groups.

No one was happier than me to see he dropped in the PPP poll, because he needs to be snapped to attention.

Cruz only had to fool 4 voters per precinct to change the outcome.

Why limit yourself to just 4 fantasy voters per precinct? Maybe the Cruz folks flipped 35 gullible Carson supporters per precinct! Who knows? Without this "subterfuge," perhaps Carson would have had 36% in Iowa and your boy Trump would still have been 2nd place!

Of course, the true number of duped Carson supporters stands at 0 per precinct, as not a SINGLE one has come forward to say, 'Hey, I walked into that caucus gung-ho Carson, and those nasty Cruz supporters tricked me." Not a single one.

Cruz lost a lot of Carson people with that Iowa stunt. Carson will be a valued endorsement when he drops out, it’s the only reason Teddy even gave a half assed apology. But too late - no way Carson or his supporters switch to Cruz. Win the battle, lose the war.

He’s bailing on it, which is exactly what he did when it turned out to be too hard to run for Mayor of NYC or other things that he has threatened.

If Donnie can’t buy it, he won’t work to get it. He spent his own money on this campaign - and all of his other campaigns - because he knows he cannot attract donors. And after his ego-driven melt down the other day, I’d say any potential donors have already switched their donations.

Trump is only two states in with very few available delegates. He’s likely to have a second and a first place finish. Perhaps he is holding off heavy fire (money) until needed?

Ted Cruz tells to many lies for me. And he is a big flip flopper too. Plus his dirty tricks in Iowa are a big turn off.

Carson got the same amount he was polling at. I believe Rubio got more votes from Carson due to the story Rubio was spreading.

Already heard he’s DOWN 9 or 10 points in NH since Iowa. Nationally he’s nose-dived in polling.

One more interesting snip from source

And on Wednesday afternoon, the campaign announced it was putting up a new television spot in New Hampshire that highlights the energy of his raucous campaign rallies as part of an $850,000 ad buy placed last week.

Interesting approach. Vote for me because people love to come and listen to me. And they are the best listeners. That I can promise you. And they cheer for me. And it does not matter what I say, they listen. They do. And they cheer for me. I have the best cheerers. And we will have the best cheering wherever I go.

Never mind about those Iowans who cheered for me. They were stupid and that nasty Cruz tricks stupid people.

What record?

Cruz, along with Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio (ignore the Gang) have no records. NONE.

Have they named a post office between the 3 of them? I’m not even sure they’ve done that!

If the Iowa caucuses were honestly tabulated, the one thing that is perfectly clear is that polls were way off, so you cannot claim Carson did not lose votes by Cruz campaign lies. What the Cruz people did is absolutely Romney-esque! By the way, all it would take for that lie to benefit Cruz and cause Trump to lose, is a change of only FOUR votes per caucus. On the other hand, if the polls were accurate, then there had to be massive cheating in the tabulation of the ballots. Either way, the victory was stolen from Mr. Trump!

Yep!

On the very slim chance that Trump doesn't blow everyone else off the map next Tues., or I even shudder to think it, Donald squeaks out a win or there is a tie, or something else that is too dangerous to imagine, one wonders how this will effect world peace or Tsunamies throughout the universe!
