Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio on Thursday vaulted into second place in a daily tracking poll, but still trails front-runner Donald Trump by double-digits in the New Hampshire primary

Trump leads the GOP field with 36 percent support, according to the WHDH/UMass Lowell poll, followed by the Florida senator with 15 percent support, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) with 14 percent support, former Florida governor Jeb Bush with 8 percent support and Ohio Gov. John Kasich with 7 percent support.

This is less likely than would have been a Santorum-Gingrich ticket in 2012; Newt would have never agreed to VP even though he won only two states.

Rubio has another thing common with GWB. Rubio is eager to start another war in the middle-east.

If Trump and Cruz keep taking the bait, we will have president Rubio.

We'll have candidate Rubio and President Hillary.

Exactly. So does Jeb. What is it with war and compassionate conservatives? Guess you gotta take all that repression out on someone. :?)

Screw Rubio/rubicon from the establishment. Rubio should immediately suspend his run to be Obummer2, to spend all his time closing down the borders. I can see Ruby being second on the ticket to the Clinton transgender candidate.

I trust Trump to strongman his way to most of what he has promised. I don’t trust ANY of the rest of them but I will hold my nose and vote for the republican nominee whoever he is, against Sanders (doubt Hilliary can win nomination, same for her whatever it takes to keep a Dem out of WH).

It is a damn shame a few months ago I thought Cruz might be a honest man.

Rubio needs to throw in the towel and join all his friends back at the mosque.

Bush doesn’t have the power to take down Rubio. I wish something would take down Rubio, he is a total loser.

If the GOPe has anything to do with it, he will be the Republican nominee. And as a result, Hillary will skate into the White House. I, for one, will not vote again for Marco Rubio. I made that mistake one time.

I agree. They would rather have Sock Puppet Marco and lose the election than have someone they can’t control.

Trump will lose followers if he doesn’t get back to what attracted those followers in the first place. At one time, Trump was wowing with his broad policy statements. When he devolved into mostly attacks on other candidates, he weakened his own appeal.

In weakening himself, he enables the GOPe to play their games.

I hope he is wise enough to recognize this for himself.

I don’t think he’s a loser but he may not be the conservative he claims to be. Part of his appeal ( and downfall) is that he’s a consensus builder. He was Speaker of the House in Florida and a successful one. I’m not sure if we really need consensus though. We need principle more than consensus.

So you are against Trump too? Because he is the one who has already been talking about how he will go in and make deals with Schumer and Pelosi.

I hope you’re right, because he could be the President. My impression of him is that he’s a sock puppet, who will do anything his masters tell him to do.

This great Rubio surge is the creation of the media, which only goes to show that the media still has way too much power.

I’m not supporting Trump. At this point it’s either Cruz or Rubio for me.
