Team Carson furious with Cruz
The Hill ^ | 4 Feb 16 | Easley

Posted on 02/04/2016 7:05:03 AM PST by xzins

Ben Carson and his closest advisers are going nuclear against Ted Cruz and his campaign for spreading false rumors that he intended to drop out ahead of the Iowa caucuses.

Carson's close friend and adviser Armstrong Williams told The Hill in an interview on Wednesdaythat the Cruz campaign’s tactics were 'nasty, brutal and deceitful.'

'We've been told all along that Cruz's operatives play dirty and were capable of this stuff, but Dr. Carson never believed it, he felt like they had a respectable operation,' Williams said. 'Now we see firsthand that having integrity just doesn't matter to them. It's about honor and character, either you have it or you don'.t'

Williams said he's certain that Cruz knew the rumors about him dropping out were false but says the Texas Republican allowed his underlings to spread it anyway.

'He's a pure politician and will do anything to win,' Williams said. 'It doesn't matter who he does it to, friend or foe, whatever it takes to win. Cruz has been running as an outsider and calling Hillary Clinton dishonest. Well, Cruz is the one running without honor or integrity, and this shows he's just like everyone else inside-the-beltway.'

Carson has demanded Cruz fire those responsible for spreading the rumor, but Cruz has said he won't do that.

"After all the candidates worked so hard, and Dr. Ben Carson had a staff member lose his life working towards this day, to have someone like Cruz and his people deceive and spread falsehoods is unconscionable," Williams said.

Lest we forget, in other news:

Donald Trump has always been a fan of Ben Carson:

But then, he “used to be” a fan of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama as well:

But The Donald isn’t an opportunist at all...

More evidence here that Cruz certainly does bring sleazy Goldman Sachs Values to the campaign trail.

CNN did not say Carson was dropping out. That lie was not theirs - it was spawned in the Cruz camp. That is why Cruz apologized for it. By apologizing Cruz owned the lie his people told on caucus night.

Might want to check Limbaugh statement yesterday. He said Rubio team was first.

At this point, Carson has no chance to win and is just functioning to split the conservative vote to give the moderate Rubio a shot.

If the rumor about his suspending his campaign wasn’t true, it probably should have been.

“Cruz is toast if Carson uses the race card.”

If Carson does that, his credibility will be diminished further than it is already being diminished.

I admire the way Carson obviously studied up on the issues of this race. Considering this was not his natural field, he really had a lot of things down on many many subjects.

But he did need to exhibit more passion and a desire to make changes to America. I always felt like I was in a professor’s class. The only real passion I’ve seen from him is over this Cruz issue.

But lets not pretend we don’t know the role Trump played in greasing the skids on Carson by pounding him with really vile attacks and contrived innuendos.

And finally as everyone knows, a good part of his core team quit over William Armstrong. Carson should have kept him as a silent advisor, and not let him get into day to day decisions and finally let him speak for Carson.

Perhaps Dr.Carson learned a lot from this and will have more success running in the next election.

For an example, Cruz, Carson and the others should look to Trump’s apologies for some of the idiotic and false things he’s said about them. But wait, there weren’t any were there...?

“Ted Cruz kind of gives me hope that he can beat that b*tch in November. I MEAN DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK WE CAN BEAT HER FAIR AND SQUARE? Give me a break. My only hope is that he plays nasty with her and hits as hard as that buck-tooth varmint does. She and her husband have made all of our lives a living hell. As far as I am concerned he can wage nuclear war against that hell b*itch. THERE IS NO PLAYING FAIR WITH THE CLINTONS.

I’d agree he’s being very aggressive. He’s taking advantage of mistakes and opportunities.

Do campaigns make mistakes, absolutely. Do they lie, heck yeah! Did he commit an evil atrocity? No, Did he apologize and was it accepted, yes.

I don’t see you condemning Rubio with the same fervor. That lie of omission is on the same level as what you are accusing Cruz of.

I don’t trust any candidate. Humans are not perfect. People make mistakes especially when things are chaotic and they’re tired.

And so the mainstream media’s and the GOPe’s war on Cruz continues. And the low-information amongst us swallow it whole and puff it up some more.

The only low info people here are the Cruz supporters with loving eyes that can never see.

If he were not eligible, it would have been taken to the courts already. It hasn’t and that should tell you something.

Here’s my tin foil hat theory.

1. Carson decides he’s is not doing as well as he hoped, he is running out of money and decides to go think about his political future. Remember, he already said weeks ago that he would drop out if he didn’t finish in the top 3 in 2 of the first 4 states.

2. One of his staffers told someone in the Rubio camp that things were looking bad and that Carson was going to take a break from the campaign, which is another way of saying “suspend the campaign”.

3. Rubio’s boys got cracking and picked up some support from Carson on the strength of what they were told.

4. After an hour and a half or so of Rubio’s activities, Carson got wind, realized that someone had been talking out of school, and issued a statement at just about the time Cruz was first talking about it. By this time voting had started and there was not a lot of movement possible, in either direction.

5. Carson sees an opportunity to ding Cruz without hurting Rubio and takes his shot.

Even if not dropping out, the staffer allowed the obvious implication that Carson did not care engoug to go go directly to NH. The I need clothes line is pretty weak really. I like Dr. Carson but I fear that his staff is not up to the task and that his style is to gentelmanly for the rough and tumble of a campaign.

On the other side of the coin I find it most humors that djt fans are attacking Cruz and Rubio (a little) on this as being “cheating” which of course they would applaud any dirty trick (like say brithrism) by djt.

Cruz man said he had an INSIDER confirm to HIM personally that Carson was “out”..

CIA huh? Doesn’t know how to vet his source? Suuuuuure.

This is exactly like the little shell games Obama plays. Oh but St. Cruz is ‘rigteous’ so it’s ok when he does it.

That is the biblical way, and Cruz and Carson are both biblical Christian candidates....at least they say that.

Ted Cruz is running as the political prophet of piety, and as such he sends a 'look at me' standard above the normal political fray.

More and more we can see that not only are his Senate votes hypocritical to a 'spirit filled' soul, but his entire self advancement is hypocritical.

This is why secular pursuits should never be mingled with the church, because it harms the church and draws in those 'spirit filled' followers to be hypocritical in defending indefensible actions. Cruz is a hypocrite to scripture and his followers are being the same.

Sort of like Trump equating Dr. Carson to a child molester and like Trump saying Hillary would be better than Cruz. I guess that is fair game...LOL!

You Trumpsters are pathetic!
