I’m just wondering, who does support doing those things? And what power does a president have. Would you vote for someone who is lying to you, just because you liked the lies?

A President can propose, lobby for, and sign legislation. A President can therefore support stripping a given matter from the appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. This is one of the powers of the Congress.
